CLAMP aimed CCS towards young girls and the main character was created to reflect that (like almost all fiction). Assuming CLAMP was still aiming for the same crowd, Sakura's age, sense, and interests would reflect those of modern-day girls.

I was once arguing with a friend about how superior 90s characters designs were, until she pointed out Sakura's design was the beginning of moeblob. Fuuck.

If CCS had been made today, the music would've been all connected to a specific record company (Like Sony with Aniplex) and generic crap instead of mostly done by the seiyuu. There also would've been more panty shots and it wouldn't have gotten a 70 episode adaptation but a 39 episode one. Cardcaptor Sakura was lucky to have been adapted in the 90s.

Also, does anyone know whether there is a good rip of the series? Most of them tend to be old ass subs or "cleaned" via a program, but nothing like official remastering.

I was really surprised (but not disappointed (if I wanted panty shots, I would have watched Stike Witches)) that while she and her friends other wore skirts (and sometimes dresses), there's no a single panty shot in the entire series.

Both Angelic Layer and Chobits were made after Love Hina and they didn't force the main characters to become 'Tsundere'. Plus, when they made the Anime adaptation of Tsubasa Chronicles, they made Sakura Crow even MORE weak and passive.

Case in point, if CCS was made today, it would have most likely been near the same. That is, if it was made with the same staff.

Please. 'Cute' characters go back to the 1960s. CardCaptor Sakura is hardly unique in that regard. You could just as soon blame something like Tenchi Muyo or Sailor Moon for starting 'moe' than CardCaptor Sakura.
