I like this theory too and predict that in the final episode everybody else will have disappeared and we're down to Yuri, Otonashi, Kanade, Hinata, Yui and TK. They will agree to stay and help Kanade to guide newcomers. However, Yuri will then achieve Nirvana for successful rebellion or something and Yui after Hinata confesses to her. Hinata will then go after Yui and possibly TK manage to get him overcome his druggie past. Kanade will disappear after she sees how Otonashi fusses over her which will make Otonashi get over his little sister and disappear.
