Hell yes. Considering this is a pretty dry season for anime I'll be giving this a try for sure. Moyashimon as a live action sounds a lot more appealing than the 5 or 6 moe shows this season.

You have a point, but from what Japanese action I`ve seen the acting and everything is pretty decent (if a bit unconventional for western audiences). Take such complicated stuff as Nana, for instance - many characters are portrayed adequately, you can finally grasp the personality of Nana (in anime she looks more like a senseless bitch, I wondered why anyone would like her), also Shinichi is great. So both anime and live action portrays characters differently, and you can build your own picture. I won`t elaborate on what`s wrong with hollywood, you know yourself those bullshit budgets they are getting not doing them any good. And if you compare salaries of western and japanese actors, it becomes all too evident.

What should be interesting is if this show is able to get good ratings. Any one has a REAL idea (no suppositions) of the difference between the cost of a live-action drama and a tv anime in Japan?

I have never watched a Japanese TV show before unless it was animated, but I was really excited when I saw this thread because I love Moyashimon.

When I read that Kei is rewritten to a girl I kinda lost interest though. Are we sure that's the case, or is it that the character is the same, just that they're using a female actor? That would make some sense, just so long as it's understood that Kei is male and very gay.

They're usually expected to kinda ham it up in Japanese LA. I looking forward to it anyways.
