Strike Witches is a mix of
elements that, at first glance, ..should.. ..not.. work. At all. There
are just so many camps they're trying to appeal to: mahou shoujo,
furries (10%), military/weapon otaku, lolicons, yuri fans, uniforms,
etc. Yet, somehow, it manages to somehow strike a perfect balance
between all these and deliver a decent, if not solid, character-driven
show.
Take away the fanservice, and I still would have enjoyed
it. |
