Does your family/loved ones/friends know about your weeaboo power level?

If so, what do they think of it?

My cousins are Narutards... but hardly even know what anime actually is and have no weaboo power levels themselves.

Despite this, they are aware that I have multiple gigs of hentai on my PC, and they surprisingly do NOT make fun of me for it.

Furthermore, even though they do not seem to care, I still go through extreme measures to hide it from them even though they know it is there.

The fact that they do not mock me for this, means that they themselves are probably VERY good at hiding their own power levels from me.

I keep my room's weeabooness to a minimum.

Only manga I own is Mushishi and I have one Gunpla. Other than that my room is filled with normal shit like books, CDs, etc.

I'm just paranoid when people use my computer. My parents know I watch anime, but they equate anime with stuff like Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Gundam, Speed Racer, Astroboy etc. in other words, shit I'm not really embarrassed to watch in front of family or stuff that they grew up watching. If they were to go on my computer and see my 20 gigs of anime photos of cutesy, moe girls, and some of the other moe shows I watch and all my hentai... I probably wouldn't be too embarrassed actually, but it's something I'd rather avoid.

They know of my weeaboo status, but they don't know how big my power level is.

I admit that i used to pause or close the anime that i was watching when my mom entered my room but i stopped that after awhile.

But it's not like i karaoke inside my house or do cosplay like a fucking tool so they take it as a hobby, it's come up once or twice in family dinners and while it's somewhat embarrassing, they aren't dicks about it.

They've asked me once if i want to work in japan and i answered that i want to visit japan, not work or live there.

    So yeah, it's cool.

I'm not close to very many people, but the ones that I am close to aware of it.

When I was younger, my parents watched anime with me. Now I watch it on my laptop around them all the time and the most I get is "Don't you have any headphones?"

My close friends know. It varies from friends that are deeper into it than I am, on the same level, or completely unaware. I don't make friends with the typical narutobleachonepiece weeaboos.

Considering that my other high powerlevel friends are female, it makes it easier. My boyfriend is usually accusing me of liking women and whatnot because I love moeshit so much, but he casually watches himself. Most of what he knows, he knows from me.

People I haven't know for years will generally not find out that I'm a weeaboo.

Well it is one of the reason we are fuckbuddies. Because we want sex, but we don't want to have a relationship right now.

My sister and my friend tell me I look 'too Japanese' because I wear chucks, slim fit jeans, and buttion up shirts, haha. I don't really see it though.

Yes, my mom knows of it and she knows how bad it is.

    Wow.

That bro of yours has absolutely no sense of opportunity whatsoever.

I only let my closest friends know of my power level and only those who can stomach it. I don't exactly advertise my manga/anime collection in college.

Pretty much. Doesn't really matter if I have a job or that I'm doing well in college. As longs as they know I watch anime and that I don't have a girlfriend they will continue to bug the shit out of me.

In fact, I tell her a lot of true "weird" things that a normalfag wouldn't accept in a joking way just because I can.

Parents and sister are aware. Parents thinks it's just another of my hobbys and leaves it at that. Sister knows I've watched a LOT, but leaves it at that. Probably cause she also hiding her powerlevel.

My place is almost completly clean from weeboo shit. Only clue is a small handful of artbooks, and even that is from well-known stuff like Ghibli. Rest is digital.

Friends know that I watch/read both anime/mango as well as western animation/comics. So they suspect nothing.

I'd reckon that most people on /a/ still live with their parents.

Especially if there's an adorable imouto involved.

Mom thinks it's amusing and sometimes surprises me with a new anime DVD. Dad makes fun of me for it ("Oh, you're watching Big-Eyes again?")

Sister gets mad and rages at me supporting "those people." I tell her she supports "those people" a lot more by driving a Honda than I do by watching anime.

I assume most people were begotten by parents, who are still alive and communicate with their children.

Agree on the imouto part though.

My sister is autistic, so my mom tries to introduce her to more "mainstream" interests so she has a point of contact with some of her peers. My mom figured that she'd fit in with the anime-watching crowd at her high school, so she asked me for recommendations. I think her inquiry suggests that she's aware of my power level, even though I secretly watched all of my anime off the computer for many years
    >> Anonymous 05/04/10(Tue)13:31 No.34357788
my best friends have a high power level too so it's fine, but the others just know I like mangas. my parents know that I spend most of my time on my computer, but they don't know what I do on it ...
    >> Anonymous 05/04/10(Tue)13:32 No.34357799
My parents know I read a little manga, but don't think much of it.
My brother is aware of my full powerlevel, my visiting 4chan, will watch some anime with me from time to time and reads manga on my recommendation.
My friends know. One of them is a weeaboo as well (though she has shitty taste - Reborn! and shit like that).
    >> Anonymous 05/04/10(Tue)13:32 No.34357813

    mom is dead

    thats about it...
    >> Anonymous 05/04/10(Tue)13:34 No.34357865
Yes, for the most part (they don't know the exact powerlevel).

My brother is also a weeaboo and my mother grew up with Astroboy, Gatchamen and Mazinger Z (and I thank her for introducing them to me, especially Mazinger, as I was able to enjoy the sequels and remakes better)
    >> Anonymous 05/04/10(Tue)13:34 No.34357869
Yes, everyone knows about my power levels. It goes like. my brother is just as heavy torrent leecher as I am. My sister torrents too but I think she goes bit more selectively. Our mother watches some series, mostly based on recommendation and having liked similar shows. Our father mostly doesn't care and hasn't watched much, but has commented that some have had "interesting concepts" such as Miyazaki's stuff. Also, we're all old enough to have moved out of the basement. Well not really basement since we lived on the sixth floor, but you get the idea.
