The OVAs usually take 6-12 months to come out. At least Dark Horse finally released volume 10 of the manga in english.

Not OP, but should I read the manga to get ready for the next OVA, or should I wait to make the OVA more exciting?

Oh well, it seems to me that the Hellsing franchise is almost dead. I will be shocked if OVA 8 is ever released. I've been thinking since it started that there's no way in hell they'd make it all the way to the end.

Enjoy losing interest long before OVA8 even comes out, if you don't read it.
To be honest though, I believe the 8th volume/OVA is the climax of the entire series. and after that it goes downhill until the end, although the ending itself is good.

They've been pretty consistently on track with the manga, so without a doubt there will be 10 episodes, if it's not canceled first.
