think anime has a much larger range than other shows. It's like
webcomics, which can be action, humor, romance, and any blend in
between. Liking the cutesy girls is no different than liking soaps.
I
think the fact that anime is japanese in origin, something separate
from our culture, that seems to place the magnifying glass on the
argument. I must say that Sailor Moon was pathetic once I realized
how the guy only showed up, recited a poem, threw a flower, and left.
It's no different from Naruto when Sakura cries about how sasuke or
someone else is hurt though, so it's more about what you like. I must
say that some of Kon makes me laugh, some of it makes me smile, and some
of it is just not that interesting to me. Guys and girls interact with
their own gender differently, so in a way the perspective is
interesting, but in another it's not. |
