I never put posters and shit in my room, ever. The most I had was a map of the world that was on my wall over my desk when I was in high school. But I took that down when I rearranged my room.

I don't really feel the need to decorate anything, or wear my interests on my sleeve.

My room doesn't have any anime posters or things like that, just DVDs, and a small Eva Unit 01 figure.

I used to obsessively hang all of my marvel, comic book, and anime posters on my walls in my bedroom until I had not even an inch of wall to spare for anything else.

Now that I own my own house I realize that it looks pretty terrible from a maturity and decorative perspective. I used to use the accuse that it was ok to hang that stuff in my graphic design studio but I've since given that up as well. Now the only things hanging from my walls are actual framed portraits or cork and white boards in my office.
....I'm still keeping the posters though. Just for nostalgic purposes. Who knows, I may hang them in my garage. But I doubt it

I have a cable dude coming out soon to install a new internet port and I'm actually embarrassed about him seeing my room ._.

I have a simpsons poster and a bunch of posters that came with my nintendo power magazines. not too many anime related ones

I've always preferred a well designed room that looked nice versus a cluttered mess of my interests.
The best is, of course, to meld the two. Say for example some powerlevel supressing wall vector paint job. People love that, and if it has something to do with what you like, you'll love it too. pic related, wouldn't that look cool on a wall?
Keep your figurines on a shelf with doors. Keep the doors open when you want, close them for company.

They key is to be minimalistic. Overcrowded rooms that are full of posters and figures everywhere look like shit. Have a modern, stylish room with your shit systematically placed with as little clutter as possible, with modern furnishings.

i have some small posters, 3 actually. I do have my figures out but they are displayed on nice cubed shelves above a couch, with dvds. Everything else is just minimal and my room is always clean so i dont look completely weird or anything.

My rooms kind of small, but I have a bookcase filled with normal books, and on top I have all my DVDs. Next to it is a Violinist of Hameln wallscroll, and my clothes drawer/beareu/howeverthefuckyouspellit that has all my manga on top. There's some figurines too, but they're not creepy or anything.

Aside that there isn't anything that stands out
