Greetings, my Japanophile friends! Cartoonist Stan Lee here; some of you may be familiar with me from my latest creation, Heroman. As you may also be aware, many of my characters have alliterative names: Bruce Banner, Peter Parker, Matt Murdock, and Scott Summers, just to name a few. While working on Heroman (whose protagonist, Joey Jones, also follows this tradition), I found myself wondering whether this trend of cartoon characters' first and last names beginning with the same sound was as common in the exotic Orient as it is here in America. After doing some research into the subject, I have compiled a short list of my findings, which I now present to you. Feel free to add to it as you wish. Excelsior!EASY MODE: Simple alliterationHARD MODE: First and last names begin with the same kanaNIGHTMARE MODE: First and last names begin with the same kanji
Jojo. x7.
Although her first and last names start with the same sound, they're not even always romanized with the same letter. Hardly a challenge at all!
This fine gentleman's name is almost the same as that of the boy hero of my latest show! He also qualifies for HARD MODE!

Does Tessai Tsukabishi count? It's the same letter, but the "ts" sound is kind of more similar to "s" than "t."

When I asked this gentleman about it, he told me that alliterative names are a tradition that's been handed down through his family for generations!
