    The manga arc that was Trust and Betrayal was horseshit compared to the OVAs.
    Shonen artist / writer with shoddy exposition, horrible dialogue, shonen combat and speedlines up the ass tries to do serious drama? Not happening.

    The OVAs are 10/10 masterpieces however.

    Anime succeeds when it escapes from the stupidity of manga.

    Manga is terrible because it is Indefinitely Serialized.

    Thus there is infinite ability and huge incentive to stall plot progression.

    Anime is given a limited time slot and must accomplish what it needs to within that slot. Second or third seasons are not Promised.

    Take a story and give someone 26 episodes to tell it. You'll get an amazing story.

    Take a story and give someone 752 volumes to tell it. You'll get filler. Long pauses. Contradictions to keep it going. Plot Holes. And weakness.

    The fact is, that the only good Manga is stuff that has a Hard Limit. Anything weekly and continuous with no set limit is bound to be bad.
