The ending, 'twas cheesy, and god damn it am I getting sick of the Amazing Grace melody. And the whole 'fixing up dat robot' and Rio becoming the princess felt all a bit too deus ex machina. The pacing went in yo-yo motion. Some of the character emotions toward the end felt a bit forced. And yes, you could say there is a considerable amount of wasted potential in there.

But I can say with firm confidence that the show set out and 'did' what it was supposed to do

Ok, this is another show were the ending feels rushed.

Instead of rushing the ending, you could have spared us episode 8 and 9, and use the 4 last episodes for a big finale epic.

I think this is the real beauty of SNW, we got slice of life episodes but ultimately the characters had to react individually in their own way through the universe created for the show.

Some of the reactions felt forced and scripted and that's where we get weak episodes, but in the episodes where the characters just seem to be reacting naturally to where and when they lived we got some really spectacular episodes.

Kudos to A-1 and the show's production crew for making a vibrant universe filled with real human emotion. As well as spider tanks.

If there's anything to take away from SNW it's definitely the fact that anime, unlike live action TV shows has a fictive trance that's definitely deeper than those of well made live action TV. But at the same time the trance is much more fragile and even a slight break in it is deeply jarring (see: pee episode).

Nothing was answered about the birds\technology, nobody died, nothing.

But still, despite how cheesy it was, it was still fucking beautiful and D'awwww-inducing.
