I too felt the ending was a little rushed. I felt there should have been more interaction between Kurosawa and the hikki. Also thought that the bitch getting kurosawa really came from far out in left field, there wasn't really a single sign that they were even remotely interested in each other before hand.

I feel like they could do a sequel centering around the hikki and her own quest for redemption and change.

I agree. Part of me was glad that the two mains didn't magically end up together, but the whole gangster girl thing was too rushed for me, especially considering their past interactions and Kurosawa's thoughts on her behavior. Also he made a big deal about his confession and later actions being to show the loner girl something, to help her somehow yet really did not follow through on this at all until the reunion.
