  • Kimmo Alm aka "Sysop" from AnT has been spamming us for YEARS now, and has recently stepped it up. This shit has got to fucking stop. As promised, here are all of the e-mails he has sent me over the years (and my responses).

We've done all we can do about him. We've banned THOUSANDS of proxies, and deleted OVER A HUNDRED THOUSAND spam posts. His attacks continue though, and we've reached the limit of what we can do.
edit: we aren't going to add captcha.

I've been now to 5 Animu conventions in my life (not on my own free will mind you, I was dragged there by friends) and still too this day I always end up spending the entire con facepalming at everyone and being put of Anime for months at a time afterwards.

How many times do you need to go to a Con before you can eventually accept the fucking annoying pathetic teenager weeaboos and the yuri fangirls running around smacking people with Yuri bats or something and the fucking high pitched weeaboo animu speak "OMG SO KAWAIII!!!!" and the fucking glomping?

I'm going to be dragged to another one soon by my girlfriend and I want to actually try enjoy myself this time... but I just don't think I can.

If you can't ignore them, your will is too weak. Go sit under a waterfall or something. Or drink some alcohol before you go in.
    >> Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)09:59 No.32091762
keep in mind i have never been to an anime con but maybe going to the con drunk would make it entertaining.
    >> Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)10:01 No.32091808
    Learn to chill and relax.

Go to the con, be with your girlfriend and just let the weeaboos and retards do their thing.
    >> Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)10:02 No.32091840
It's not just anime cons, by the way. Try going to any con, and you'll have the same sort of people running around being retarded. Just dressed as different characters.

Go as Kenshiro. People will come up to you to comment how good your costume is. That's when you punch them. You always have an excuse that you were roleplaying or something.

If you don't want to be near those weaboo, just follow one simple rule: Steer clear from things that will attract weaboo.
See those naruto doujin stands? get the hell away from it.

Anime con's put me off anime forever.

    Im only here because /a/ is my only friend ;_;
    >> Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)10:04 No.32091906
It's not that bad, OP. You're obviously focusing on all the negatives. You can actually have a lot of fun if you let yourself. Go to panels, discuss things with people, go to the dealers' room, etc. You can meet some really cool people. Just ignore the faggotry; same thing with /a/. It sucks but you have to focus on the good things.
I can't wait for my next con. I'm going to get so much manga in the dealers' room. Hopefully I'll get the rest of Blame and Sanctuary.
It's so easy to make friends there; everyone is so nice. Don't be a cynical douchebag.
    >> Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)10:05 No.32091908
Weren't there any interesting panels with reasonable people?

This. Just ignore them and let them do your thing while you do yours.

If you need to build up tolerance, go hang around a middle school for a week before the con.

In my country we have this con that is both for anime and RPGs.
Here's a rather amusing scene from there.

Neckbeard "I swear to Odin that I'll start a murderous rampage if a single one of those friggin otakus starts doing their crazy shit in OUR game room one more time!"
*Whale sized naruto cosplayer stands on the doorway blasting carameldansen from his stereo*

    OP here
I would try to ignore them, but often randoms just start jumping in the middle of your conversations.

Me and my friend were discussing how shitty Animu had gotten recently and fucking people decide to jump in our conversation and argue with us.

I'm always up for a good argument, I'm on [a/ of course but these people always take everything way too seriously and seriously believe that Animu is the greatest and well written entertainment ever created.
Somehow the conversation went in the direction of Death Note, they were arguing that Death Note was an example on how anime is still the best thing ever, I acknowledged Death Note was good... until episode 26 then it went instantly shit tier and then they started physically threatening me, what the fuck.

I guess another problem stems from the fact that my girlfriend is a WCS level cosplayer and every 2 seconds we get stopped by people asking for her photos.
    >> Anonymous 03/13/10(Sat)10:32 No.32092450
I've only been to the really small cons where I can sit and talk to the artists myself for hours. Mostly just curious college kids show up.

I go there like a man on a mission to buy stuff for bargains, everything else and all of the weeaboo faggots I just ignore, I conceal my powerlevel like a professional and go in, get what I need for cheaper than I can find anywhere else, maybe chill with some friends if we find one of the shows interesting and not sickeningly weeaboo, and then get out and back to whatever hotel we're staying at.

I agree with you to some extent OP but with all (most?) fan bases there will always be a sea of diarrhea and you just got to deal with it. If it really is so off putting to you then just don't go or at least try and focus on the good cosplays and 'normal' people.
