    Remember /a/ when Mai HiME/Otome was so damn popular on 4chan back in 2004-2005.

    Even I heard that Mai Hime was better than Bleach and Naruto in shonen even that ridiculous ending Sunrise pulled on us, wonder what the shitstorm was like back then.

    I really got confused by that last moment plot reveal when everyone except Mai was dead and the final boss was talking about it was all him choosing a wife or some shit.

    No hint or foreshadowing of anything like that through the whole series.

    I almost dropped it because the first few -- almost 10 or maybe around 7 episodes were happy girly per-episode based plot stuffs. It's hard to get through, but then shit gets real and stuff.

    also, I can't stand ultimate attack type action in shows. everything always ends in almost 1 hit.

    overall, Otome was okay. it brought up some good themes.
