Shounen threads are the least annoying. The overload is only on Wednesday/Thursday, when the new chapters come out. Also, trolling and spamming is the cause of the high number of these threads.
So in the end what's important is moderation.

Good idea

For both sides. Fans of WSJ manga can post their stuff without anyone complaining about them. Also, they would have sort of a good "status" on 4chan, since they would have a board of their own. As for those that are not fans of those series, it seems like they do not exactly love WSJ fans, so they would probably be OK with this.

I said this in the sticky thread, but I still think it should be an R rated /a/ which would contain "seinen" and "moeshit" and then also where you can post NSFW content related to the board.
and then this /a/ can serve the big 3 as well as more work safe anime content.
so basically /a/ right now would be getting a new board and then the shounen jump shit would be remaining here but the names won't be so painfully obvious as to destroy the shounen board before it was even created.

They should just keep their shit in 1 or 2 threads, instead of the 4-5 threads on the frontpage whenever a new chapter/episode comes out.

In other words, more moderation would be a better idea.

Half the threads in /a/ right now could go in /c/ or /b/ or /r9k/ or /jp/ - OTAKU CULTURE. But instead they're here in /a/. Because /a/ is where they'll get the most exposure and their posts will be seen by the people too see them.

What happens during /sj/'s downtime? It'll only be active for a few days a week. What happens at the weekend when someone wants to post about how good the Zabuza arc of Naruto was but they know there'll be no one in /sj/ to reply? They'll post in /a/?

This would solve nothing. Think about it, the whole argument for separating /a/ is that the big3 kids are the most retarded userbase there is. You really think they'll respect the organisation of the boards when even moderately intelligent posters don't?

Sorry, I thought this was 4chan. You know, the place where you come to discuss anything you want anonymously and openly. This is the Anime/Manga section and so people should be able to discuss whichever manga they want no matter how shitty.

The problem is when their shitty conversations interrupt our shitty conversations. If we split them off into another board, it should fix the problem.
