don't see where you get this "whiny" from his post - it's just filled
with general 4chan angst as much as your post is.
That said, he's
right. Nika would be a woman's name and in no way related to Nikita.
Even Veronika would be stretching it a bit, since she would be called
Vera for short.
...also, Simon's Russian was the most
terrifying thing I have ever heard in anime. Everything was correct as
far as the language goes, but the way he said it...it was just so dead.
Imagine a person speaking with the worst monotone in the world, now
imagine that person dyeing, coming back as a zombie, and speaking in an
even flatter, even deader voice. Engrish may be horrible and at times
comical, but at least it is filled with [wrong] articulations and
emotional inflections...hearing Simon was like having the language suck
the life out of bit by bit. |
