You are now realizing that Haruhi was always a franchise for otaku (unlike Evangelion which reached unbelievable popularity amongs many Japanese people) and as such, was shown in less theatres and was never expected to break any records. Thereby, seventh place in rankings isn't a failure, it's how it was expected to do.

Endless Eight just scared off all the normal people.
There are still tons of faggots that buy anything even remotely related to the series, and the people who actually enjoyed the novels who stick around because they like the source material.

At worst, Haruhi will be a cult hit, at best they'll start releasing normal seasons again and it'll become as popular as it always was.

Even if Endless Eight hadn't scared off some of the fans, the numbers would still be about the same.

Haruhi's always had a smaller following than something like the Gundam franchise or Evangelion or the Ghibli films.
What it does have is a massive following from more serious anime viewers. The numbers in the theater just shows how well those guys measure up against all the normal people who go pay for movies.

You get them, you just don't watch them.
If I remember correctly the last popular Bollywood movie in the U.S. was slumdog millionaire.
But I don't know if it really counts since it's not entirely Bollywood made.

    >>30764531 When will we get an Indian movie? I have heard all these rumors of Bollywood but no nothing of any of its movies.

You don't want to see a Bollywood movie. They're all fucking musicals.

Im guessing the movie ended the series? :( Lame considering how weak the ending was in the series.
