You are meant to put the board behind the page you are writing on, so your pen/pencil wouldn't leave indentations on the pages underneath it.

Originally they were just simple pieces of plastic with some multiplication tables and stuff to help students learn math, with some art on the other side to help sales. But then the decorations become more and more anime centric, and eventually people collect them for the art rather than to use them for the intended purpose.

Kyon's aimlessly wandering this new world, getting stabbed by yandere modo Ryouko again. In the end, Yuki reverts the world and Kyon awakes in hospital, with Haruhi cuddled next to him.
