Anime was never anything more than a guilty pleasure. It's pulp culture trash and those who spent their time making it were treated as trash. There were only ever exceptions; on the whole it was always bad. To suggest otherwise is lunacy.

2000 is a good year to nostalgia. It was pretty much the birth of downloading anime (Love Hina), and streaming (Vandread).

And yes, I enjoyed Medabots far more than Kampfer. I enjoyed Kampfer as well nonetheless. It's a fact that in the last couple of years, anime turned from bad to worse.
