There's 3 of these super powerful artifacts called Sankishin units.
The nox and armagus were based on them.
There's the Susano'o Unit, that Hakumen owns.
The Tsukiyomi Unit, that Rachel owns.
And
then there's the third unit, called Amaterasu, that's simply known as
'the master unit'. It's controls the other 2 units and hides somewhere
in the boundary, using Rachel to observe our world, and Hakumen as his
own personal avatar.
Terumi wants to destroy the master unit,
but to do that he needs to find it (this is where Noel comes in) and
needs the firepower to beat it (this is where the Azure and Kusanagi
comes in).
It's not stated exactly why he wants to do this, but
it is know that Terumi was the user of the Susano'o before Hakumen, and
that he abandoned the unit to free himself from Amaterasu's control. We
also know that the very original Black Beast from the first timeline
was his first failed attempt at creating Kusanagi, where the cauldron
went berserk, and he had to disguise himself and help the other heroes
clean up his mistake. |
