    Greetings from /co/!

Since this is my first-ever post in /a/, I was wondering if you fine people might be able to tell me about some must-see anime, as my friends have made me curious.

I'm not at at all versed in your medium of choice, so please forgive my ignorance.

Code Geass. It has every aspect from all anime rolled into one.

Of course it goes downhill, but if you want to see what an anime is like with animu girls, robot wars, noodle people and girly boys, go for it.

Other than that, I prefer a warm, fuzzy show like Minami-ke.

Monster. Think The Fugitive meets Silence of the Lambs, but with a killer more chilling than Hannibal Lecter. Set in Germany, the anime really brings the location to life (the background art is amazing). And it's a literal adaptation of the manga, and I mean LITERAL. Which is a good thing.

Speaking of manga, generally speaking it has more quality material because it's not as expensive an investment. Are you only looking for anime?

Oh-ho? And how do said "people" make it out to be. I haven't seen a single Death Note thread all week (Kira threads don't count). Sounds to meeeeeee, like you're drawing off some assumptions there, and you know what assumptions make you look like don't you? You can't spell assumptions without it.

If you're interested in reading a manga, try Pokemon Special.
Although if you never like the games or the anime then don't bother, but if you enjoyed them as a kid it's worth a shot.
And try to keep clear of the "big three"
    Naruto, Bleach and One Piece.
