So Gonzo isn't going to make Strike Witches season 2.
    Thoughts?

    http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-11-27/aic-to-replace-gonzo-on-2nd-strike-witches-season-up
    dated

    >The fourth issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Nyantype magazine is confirming on Wednesday that the AIC anime studio is replacing Gonzo on the animation production of the second anime season of Strike Witches. As recently as April, Gonzo was listed as the anime studio for the second season. Like the 2007 video anime and the first television anime season (2008), the tentatively titled "Strike Witches 2-ki" is based on Humikane Shimada's mecha-girl illustrations.

The people who actually matters will still return to work on s2, so I don't expect this to result in any dramatic changes.

AIC did the bruntwork for Seto no Hanayome.

If they'd ever need a Gonzo speciality, they can just outsource the task to them.

AIC isn't just bad, to me it's the best studio out there, they were the guys who were worked with Gonzo to make Last Exile and Seto no Hanayome.

They've also made certified classics such as Now and Then, Here and There.

If there's a studio that's ever underrated when it comes to anime, it's this.

It's the pantyshots and the fanservice, not like that bothers me.

    Supposedly, it's slated for Spring.

We'll find out in a few months though. I mean, not too long ago there were rumors (aka 2ch posts and Shitkaku taking them as news) that SW2 was coming this Fall. But it's been a reasonable amount of time now between seasons, and so it wouldn't surprise me that it would come out at least sometime in '10. At least they're not like Sunrise and as quickly as possible, power-shit out a fucking abortion of a second season if a show turns out popular (Gundam Seed, Gundam 00, Code Geass etc)

World War 2 doesn't really have a start date. I mean, the obvious one is September 1 1939 but there was plenty going on prior to that. In the Pacific Theater, the war really started with the Manchurian Affair in 1931. Incidentally, September 1 1939 also marks the end of battle of Khalkhin Gol in Mongolia between the Soviets and the Japanese.

At pixiv, I think I saw a few rough sketches of a doujin-in-making in which Neuroi-ko manages to kill Mio in their shoot out at ep 9 which makes Yoshika lose her optimistic idealism about the Neuroi. Minna kicks her out and Yoshika returns as 17-yo officer with a katana and a serious face ready to avenge Mio.

Well, yeah, that's like Brainwashing 101. "See? Your allies are jerks."

Yoshika proceeds to return to base and the rest of the Witches at least start to doubt their cause because she came home unscathed and within a week Britannia is in flames.

Yeah, it's weird. In childhood we had long winters and shit. I hated skiing but at least there was that possibility. Nowadays it's hardly even worth it to freeze water for ice-skating. But there's still a couple of really cold days in year every now and then.

This. Is my fear. I'm not really basing my theory that s2 will take place in Fuso on a lot. The first reason would be that I try to expect the worse. Secondly, some characters seemed to be heading toward Fuso at the end of the Himeuta CDs, which I presume takes place just before the start of s2. Thirdly, some guy involved in the project gave us a few hints at a concert with the voice actors back in... October, I think, saying that Barkhorn's sister Chris won't be in it, and Sakamoto's old buddy Takei will.

Which makes it a perfect way to kick off a new series. The Neuroi invade en masse, Yoshika launches a desperate defense of her village because Fuso's Witches are all engaged elsewhere, Takei saves her after a long battle, they retreat as Yoshika's hometown becomes a Hive, the 501st is reformed to make up for Fuso's losses, cue ep.1 credits.
