11/07/09(Sat)09:16 No.27386111>>27385995 >What
exactly would these "essays" be expected to contain? Because i'd
imagine most people would send in a generic "herp derp I would like to
be a mod because I would be a good mod and can make good judgment
calls".
Yes, they do. People send in applications full of
catchphrases and stupid irrelevant shit that nobody cares about. They
think that being a 4chan mod is about the fun and the power of being
able to do shit because they want to be part of the cool kids club.
>Now
some of those people may be right but you have no way of weeding out
the retards who THINK they have good judgment from the actual decent
people. So are you expecting like 6 months months of notes on things
you would change if you were a mod? "if I get in power I would do this
and that and this". I would think things like that would turn out like
election campaigns and never pan out, or people are thinking the job is
easier than it is.
We have a certain process of
elimination, as I've mentioned before, that involves several rounds of
interviews, general personality and character, sense of humor, not
being a numb idiot, being able to make judgement calls, having a feel
for what sucks and what doesn't suck in a completely objective
viewpoint, having an interest in chiptunes, only watching mature anime
for mature people like themselves, writing ability, computer knowledge,
hours you're awake, and a bunch of other shit. Not only that but we
vote.
>But still ask moot to open recruitment soon, god knows all of 4chan needs it BADLY.
Yes,
we know. I honestly think moot has a bunch of other shit on his plate
that he is worrying about and just hasn't gotten the ability to set
aside a good chunk of time to really overhaul the janitor situation.
I'm
fairly confident that it will happen in the future, though. But having
said that, I can honestly say that I have not actually heard one way or
another about it. |
