I marathoned all of Gurren Lagann in one go. I've been getting a friend of mine into anime over the summer and his final gift before he returned to his out of state college was brodate watching TTGL with pizza and drinks on me.

Jesus, I watched it when it first aired, then a time or two again with other friends. But all of it at once was an emotional rollarcoaster. I was actually shaking when we finished it.

You know, I hated the ending at first, but it's grown on me. The whole series is about moving forward and we see that from the young's point of view. But the end shows us that eventually we'll all be the ones that are left behind to make room for the next generation. We identify with the series positive attitude because we're young... I can only imagine how well the ending will resonate when we're in our sixties.

I was out on disablilty for a spinal injury about 16 months ago. I was in so much pain and so unbelivably bored that I picked up bleach from episode one and marathoned it all day, everyday (that's about 30 eps in a 14 hour day) until I was completely caught up.
