08/27/09(Thu)11:53 No.24522046I
agree with some of the things Otaking said about fansubbing (too many
untranslated words, notes would be better served in a text file than on
screen), disagree with others (I don't need complete localization
because I know damn well I'm watching a foreign show). I don't care
about karaoke, so whatever.
And some stuff is just stupid,
like complaining about putting sign translations on the sign itself:
"The english wasn't on the sign in the original!" No shit, Sherlock!
You know what else wasn't in the original? THE FUCKING SUBS! You know
what WAS in the original? The audience having to read THE SIGN, putting
the translation on the sign lets the English audience experience it the
same way that the Japanese audience did!
And while older anime
does have better (more detailed) still-shots, it also has a hell of a
lot less animation. I'd love for more detail in modern works, but I
don't think the industry has the budget to support it without
sabotaging current animation quality. |
