    I just finished Paprika...

    I...Um....WHAT THE FUCK?!?

Seriously, I have NO IDEA WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED? Its hard to believe that there is a anime movie out there that will make End of Evangelion seem completely logical and make sense.

I just finished Gurren Lagann too...My mind is fried.

The heroin marries the loser and fat guy. That's it.

Episodes 25 and 26 of NGE made perfect sense to me.
EoE made me WAT, and it took me an hour or so to process what happened.

    True story.

    How is Paprika, anyways?

    Paprika good.

OP is dumb as shit though, it's really not all that hard to follow.

I didn't like Paprika tbh. I loved Millennium Actress, but Paprika... It just didn't make sense and left me with a rather unpleasant feeling.

That part I get. Its everything else after she dove into the dream world that lost me.

    >>23920218
Pretty good, although I think the story is WTF worthy and isn't all that great. The art style and flow is interesting to watch, though. Worth a download.

it's not all that complicated to untangle. It's help to be familiar with Satoshi Kon's other works, especially Paranoia Agent and Perfect Blue. If you could untangle those, then you understand the way Satoshi Kon works characters and themes in and out of stories.

Paprika is good but not THAT good

I got pissed at the ending, because marrying fat people is almost as bad as being a pedophile

Ah, THAT might explain the ending a little better. I was thinking while watching this "Isn't this just like the ending of Paranoia Agent?".

Granted, I could at least understand Paranoia Agent. This might take me watching through it again. In english this time.

Satoshi Kon, at at US Film premier said something along the lines of "Paprika is like a roller coaster, if you analyze it too much, you'll miss out on the fun."

So stop trying to figure out what angle the coaster is inclined at and what speed it is going, just scream and have fun!

it's about people finding themselves in positions where they can take advantage of power. You see some indulge altruistic aspirations, some use it selfishly, but either end is a form of madness, regardless of the positive or negative qualities of the results. Power given to an individual will ultimately lead to the exposure of what drives them deep down. Whether it's Tsukiko who just wanted to run from responsibility, or Radar Man who was driven to the point of madness finding an outlet to explain what he's seen. They both had something that gave them power, Tsukiko had people's expectations of her and the Detective had the truth. These are the moments that exposed who they were at their core. Now one might ask if the anthropomorphism of those powers into Lil' Slugger might be a bit "magical"? I suppose I'll leave that up to your interpretation.

    What's not to understand?

Dream world can cross over into real world, homosexual old guy uses dream machine to gain power in dream world for real world power and while throwing people off the trail by framing a closet homosexual scientist who he killed. The dreamworld super-heroine alter ego of the schizophrenic lady scientist stops him and she lives happily ever after with some fatso.

The cross over from dream world to real world is a bit abrubt, but it's a common sci-fi theme ... I really don't see how this movie is confusing. There is no intentional DEEP shit in this movie. I'm pretty impressed how tight the plot to be honest.
