Left sleeve = "Mikerasu", right sleeve = "Kyasarin", over heart = "Pamura"...the names of my kids and wife, respectively, in katakana that matches their rough pronounciations in Japanese.On the back are the kanji for "self-defense" on the left, and "peace" on the right. This is because I'm left handed, and my sword would hang on my left, and my dagger on the right. The litttle strappys deliver the same message; as I understand it, those first showed up on French soldier's coats in the 1500s, and were used to hold their blades. The right is undone, as I am a peacable man by nature, but the left is closed, because I WILL defend myself if nessicary.
