Should I feel ashamed of watching anime? I really enjoy some of the anime shows I've been watching lately, and it's fun to hear /a/ talk about it. Then I go to look up some episodes of whatever series I'm watching, and I see all of these comments about yaoi and emoticons, then I feel depressed about myself because I'm enjoying a show that these people also enjoy. How do I enjoy anime without all of this self loathing?
Oh man, 30 Rock is a great show.
Step by Step guide.1. Don't masturbate to hentai. If you cannot stop yourself from masturbating to drawn pornography, then only masturbate to characters that are not from your favorite series. This will make it so you don't develop any "waifus" or other pathetic obsessions.2. Never cosplay.3. Don't talk with any fans that would use an emoticon, or phrases similar to "hehe". 4. Balance out your anime viewing with equal amounts of western cartoons or non-drawn television/films.
Make fun of those posters on /a/.Although, I suspect that several of /a/'s current users are those same people.

You are now reading OP's comment with Tracy Morgan's voice.
>>22911176what exactly is this a guide for?
>>22911176This, sort of. Have a life outside of anime, and don't let anime and manga dominate your life. You can talk about anime online and in real life without being a faggot, just notice the things that bother you and don't do them.
>>22911219Fuck yeah that made it 10x more awesome.
>>22911248Becoming a tense, self loathing faggot.
>>22911176Wow, you must be a really fun person to spend time with. I just love it when people set their own little social rules, it helps make conversations a lot more regulated and efficient.
>Then I go to look up some episodes of whatever series I'm watching, and I see all of these comments about yaoi and emoticons, you are looking at the wrong place>I'm enjoying a show that these people also enjoy.you really should give this more thoughts and realize how retarded you are to let this bother you.
