This is why I can't take people who complain about the new series seriously.
    >> Anonymous 06/10/09(Wed)17:22 No.22055038
Anybody who complains about FMA:B has not read the manga and therefore all their arguments are null.

I remember when the first anime came out, many fans complained that it was too angsty.

Exactly. I also thought that the manga was boring at first, and I left it after we saw "Father"... a few months ago, I picked it again and... WOW, it turns even more awesome than the original anime. A few less drama, but I won´t complain about that
    >> Anonymous 06/10/09(Wed)17:27 No.22055202
FMAB sucks because the animation is shit.

    >> Anonymous 06/10/09(Wed)17:32 No.22055353
The only reason people complain about FMA:B is because 'it is too slapstick' which basically amounts to 'it's not angsty enough'.

The manga had massive amounts of slapstick and comedy, it never gets overly dramatic or depressing, with the exception of Mustang vs Envy. There are even comedy 4komas included, for fucks sake.

The only other argument is 'The new design/animation is shit'. No it isn't, it was made to suit the atmosphere and style of the manga more; Original FMA was good, but too dark.

Also, there are 95 chapters to work with and an unlimited number of episodes, BONES is not going to dawdle over the initial stuff we saw in S1. So stop complaining about 'HUGHES DIDN'T GET ENOUGH ATTENTION' or 'BAWWW, NEEDS MORE ROSE'

    >Edward
    >Immature yet thoughtful?

Wat? The Ed I remember was an angst ridden boy trying to be older than he really was, growing up in an inviorment most adults suffer under while occasionally acting comically or helping someone when it was in his best interest. Sure, even when there was very little to gain on his part he never went OUT OF THE WAY to help anyone. To be honest, I always thought he was kind of a prick.

Original FMA anime = Very angsty, dark, fanpandering
New FMA anime = Bright, comedic, upbeat and faithful.

    New FMA > Old FMA

I like how the series is more condensed. Unlike the first series, it doesn't spend 3 episodes on something that can be illustrated accurately in 11 minutes.

The series would have been 500 times better if the manga followed the original anime's storyline. Something about alchemy and science worlds has so much potential (except the movie totally fucked it over).

He's bascally bawwwwing because Ed isn't emo enough. The fact that people like him hate Brotherhood so much, makes me love it and the manga that much more. Fucking retards want to see the same shit all over again? What would even be the point of making a second series. Frankly people who liked the first series and hate this one should just stop watching it, stay away from the manga and for the love a fuck stop bawwwing about it every five fucking second. Don't like it, DONT FUCKING WATCH IT! Its so very fucking simple that even the dumbest of inbred rednecks could understand it.

    Nice try, guy.

Also, Harry Potter already has the magical world and human world take place within the same bounds. The actual spreading of magic to the human world took place later along but the borderlines were already set from the start.

They can like whatever they want to. I agree with OP's picture, except I never had any special feelings for Ed anyway. I was neutral. Now I find him unbearable, ESPECIALLY his voice.

    >> Anonymous 06/10/09(Wed)17:50 No.22055896
The first anime created forced melodrama everywhere it could. FMA manga goes from upbeat and humorous to pretty depressing but it always handles each aspect well and lets the drama and the sad things stand on their own unlike the 1st anime which threw it all in your face and BAWWWWW'D about it.

    The Ishbalan war flashbacks are more shocking and depressing than Hughes death by the way. I can't wait to see those parts animated especially Armstrongs' breakdown ;_;

My only issue with Brotherhood is the pacing but that's understandable considering they want to get to the unanimated manga content.

What's wrong? Too OPINIONSLOL for you?

Seriously, it's impossible to hold up a decent conversation with you people. Stop acting like you're 10 years old and accept the fact some people don't agree with you. Inciting an argument and trying to force them to see things your way never works.

I don't like the annoying slapstick "humour" or Ed's voice. Besides that, FMA is decent.
