Fullmetal Alcemist

well these lists are usually filled with good anime.

But let's see:
Monster is a nice thriller though long
Cardcaptor sakura is a GREAT nostalgia piece if you are a 90's kid. Great music, great characters. Kinda long but very enjoyable with an exciting climax. Don't have to be a pedo.
Nanoha: Once you get past episode 4 its good but better if you are a pedo. Nanoha A's however is VERY good and very action based and epic. Pedoness helps but its enjoyable even if you aren't.
Full Metal Panic is generic tsundere comedy. Overrated and not very interesting. If you LOVE tsundere (violent ones), go for it after Toradora.
WATCH CLANNAD!
Outlaw Star and Mushishi are overrated but okay

Although my favorites would be LAST EXILE, Gankutsuou, Princess Tutu, Black Lagoon, Planetes, and Nanoha....

The problem with this list is because these are the only good shows: Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell: SAC, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Kaiji, Gankutsuou, Mushishi, Beck, Azumanga Daioh, Haibane Renmei, Planetes, Monster, Akagi, Baccano, Bartender, Serial Experiments Lain, Toward the Terra, 08th MS Team, Welcome to the NHK, Black Lagoon, Gurren Lagann, Death Note, Honey and Clover, and Haruhi

you should definitly start watching Mushishi. The animation and art style is really interesting. Also consider Kino's journey as well.

I can tell you what NOT to watch from that pic, since it's a shorter list:
RahXephon - slow as shit. Some people call it "eva done right", but really it's just "eva done boring"
Kino's Journey - Boring, predictable, hackneyed shit. If you've ever read a fable, you've already seen every episode of Kino's Journey
Scrapped Princess - It was just so entirely average in every way

With just about any of the rest, you can pretty much pick one at random and strike gold.

It's good, but don't expect the same animation quality that's in episode 1 throughout. Episode 1 has amazing animation... The rest of the series, less so. Real big shame, but eh. I'd say it's definitely worth a watch.

People may flame me for this, but I disliked Samurai Champloo a lot. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Luckily I did not and I still enjoyed the Jap CCS. I watched 2 minutes of the Cardcaptors and shot my sister for being within 2 miles of me
