on topic, I think Spanish is the easiest to learn gramatically
speaking. Their are no exceptions to their rules, if you have any
knowledge of latin based languages (i.e. english, french, german) and
wish to pick up Spanish, you'll see how easy it is.
American
English in my opinion is pretty tough. Their are so many exceptions to
the use of the language, that if a foreigner were to try and pick it
up, they will have a hard time mastering it.
Japanese is hard to
learn in terms of reading and writing because you are mixing four
different writing styles. You have your Chinese Kanji, Katakana,
Hiragana, and Romanji.
Chinese by itself is simple and easy to
learn, but those who grew up with a latin based alphabet will find it
difficult because the concept of the language is not based on parts
added together to make a whole (i.e. letters to form words) but a
single character represents a word or various words. Thus for Chinese
you have to memorize at least 1,500 to 3,000 characters to be able to
communicate efficiently.
Unlike Latin based languages where you can just mix and match and get the general idea of a word. |
