I do this sometimes, but 99.99% of the time now I change the subject or tell them they are too old to be watching cartoons. I've learned that allowing others in person to know I enjoy anime is a bad idea, because then I have to deal with their rants on why X person is better than Y guy. Op here, Although I agree with you, I also think many songs require the lyrics. Not because you know what they are saying, but because it just feels right. It's like a missing instrument.

However, I find myself downloading an extended full song once, then I go right to Tokyotosho or Gendou and download the karaokehurr no lyrics version nearly all the time.

I suppress my power level moderately. A couple of my friends at college have seen me browsing an anime site before. However, one time people from another class joined our class because their lecturer was off ill and I saw a guy in the other class making a Powerpoint Slideshow for Get Backers.

Oh, ok. Rammstein is my favorite band ever. My iPod is one third anime music and one third Rammstein. "Links Zwo Drei Vier" is an awesome song. And we have lots of Rammstein fansites for the purpose of lyrics translation. I learned as much german from R+ as much japanese I picked from anime.

So after various metal songs, I put on "Inner Light", second Hajime no Ippo OP, and he starts complaining the song sounds like Pokémon just because it's japanese. Shit broke my heart. Thank God I didn't put Howling.

It is different. Op's and Ed's from anime is emotional charged from watching the anime. Though, the music you listen to whit german lyrics can have that effect on you to. But to be honest, I sometimes listen to music whit out lyrics (Song) so why can't you listen to music whit lyrics you can't understand if you can listen to music without them? The lyrics are text. The singing's something completely appart from the lyrics and part of the actual music and actually part of the song. But the text being sung's completely unimportant. Nietzsche agrees with me. Don't bother him about it.

The fact that people are singing lyrics instead of music's mostly due to them not being hardcore manly enough to turn themselves into an instrument. Like Opera Singers do.

I'm always sort of revealing my powerlevel with this one girl in my screenwriting class who was also in my Japanese (oh god that was hell) course. She also runs the shitty anime club, which I wanted to take over, but its to smalltime.
