I had varying levels of enjoyment for every series on there. I even enjoyed Bleach (the first arc anyways), and the even some of Geass. I know this is a troll, but I don't know why we have to get so upset at each other for watching something that we enjoyed. To me, it doesn't matter what you watch, because at the end of the day we all are still watching anime. It doesn't matter if you watch the 'good shit' or the 'shitty shit', we're all the same in everyone else's eyes.

Anyways, sorry for the interruption, have fun with your troll thread Anonymous.

That said, I still enjoy anime. I know the writing is shit, but that doesn't mean it isn't good dumb fun. Like Scary Movie. Now that is a better comparison to anime.

You expect a small subculure to produce masterpieces equal to the global cinema greats, with only a millionth of the budget and time?

You're pretty much a frucking idiot for even bothering to make such a comparison. That's like asking for a comic book that can beat classic novels. It's not going to happen, but it doesn't mean the other medium is worthless.

OP: You kind of got it right. Ergo Proxy is psuedo-intellectual bullshit though. And, ironically, Seirei no Moribito is based off a novel aimed at teenagers.

But that's what I love about it. Yes I'm what /a/ would call "pretentious". But the only anime I would actually label pretentious is Paprika. Shit tried to be complex and deep but failed horribly with a cliche plot and horrible execution.

Why would Hollywood movies be necessarily better than Japanese movie/animation?

    Using examples posted here:
Why would Star Wars be better than Yojimbo? Why would Die Hard be better than Spirited Away?
Why would Blade Runner be better than Kagemusha?

    It all comes to tastes.

Just think for a second before posting, cock sucker. If you have fun with "Anime for Kids" and not with "Anime for Adults" you are on a kid's level. Is it so hard to understand that? Nobody's trying to be "intelectual" or shit with fucking jap's animation, but some are trying to grow up from DBZ

also, the book lolita would make an awesome anime, because you could actually animate all the scenes that can't be in the movie versions for obvious reasons.
