One Piece? Outlaw Star did it first and infinitely better, with infinitely less episodes.

Besides, Luffy doesn't have Aisha Clan-clan.

Yes but at least skeleton makes silly puns that make most people chuckle while Aisha runs around repeating her name ten times in an episode and being about as engaging as a brick wall( unless you're a furfag that is)

But, other than Aisha I fucking loved that series as both dubs and subs and bought the entire series on DVD.

At least Outlaw Star has a Beginning, a Middle - and an END.

But then, the likes of Kishimoto, Tite, Oda & Araki have no concept of Endings. Thus their manga are CRAP. Enjoy filling SJ's coffers, suckers. They specifically choose these kinds of stories to feed & bleed you shonenfags.

    Ergo, Outlaw Star >>>>> Naruto/One Piece/Bleach/JJBA. QED.

Redo One Piece with FAR less episodes (& infinitely less chapters; say, three volumes worth in Ultra Jump), and preferably have it set in space (and replace one of the sluts with a catgirl). The problem with short stories is that...they're short. They end so quickly and then you get everything you wanted out of your twenty-six episodes and then...bam! Show's over, move along people nothing more to see here!

What I like about longer stories like One Piece is that there is an ongoing story and you get to see more new things in every episode. Also, with the way One Piece is, there are elements which tend to build on eachother, furthermore, where Outlaw Star tends to tell only one story, One Piece has MULTIPLE STORIES. A single arc can last longer than a series. And when it's done, another story comes in its place. The bigger picture of course comes in piece by piece, inch by grueling inch, and that makes it all the more exciting. It's not like there isn't an end in sight...there is. But many things happen along the way. One Piece is by far the most epic adventure I've seen. Outlaw Star, while good on its own is small shit.

You know, I don't agree with this for several reasons. The first being that there really *are* no new stories. New ways to tell them, yes, but the core stories are essentially the same as they've been since man was telling them around fires in the last ice age.

The second leads from that and that is: Stories are meant to be told and retold over and over again. They change little by little with every telling and eventually evolve into "new" stories. This is why productions of Shakespeare today are different than ones 400 years ago and sometimes bear little resemblance to the Bard's original works (which themselves were based on older stories).

Hollywood adapting anime stories puts a new perspective on those stories (Western as opposed to Eastern) and will lead to more changes down the line. There's nothing wrong with this, this is how progress happens.

    Shorter anime are better.
The advantage to a shorter anime is that due to it being shorter, there's less of a risk of growing bored with the premise or plot.

If people are not bored with the premise, then they can properly plan a sequel, and take time to write a new story for it.

    No, not just the end.
We like the fact that the plot has a resolution, that it all led somewhere.
A good shounen was TTGL, as it had a good plot, which was resolved in 26 episodes. It then ends satisfactorily.

Can you really claim that when one pice eventually ends, the ending will be good? It's gone on for so long now that no matter how it ends, fans will bitch about it.

Even Dragonball Z had a shitty ending (mostly due to the Buu saga).

In short, we watch shorter shows because we like to know that the light at the end of the tunnel isn't just another train.

You're basically critisizing something that hasn't happened yet. It would be okay if you had any proof whatsoever to suggest that Oda can't pull off an ending well, except you don't. In fact, you could say he's very capable considering the endings of each of the individual arcs so far.

OP's arcs are pretty much separate from each other. While some may argue that this kind of format is bad, the stories contained in each are very good, and have a really nice conclusion. So even if the real ending is bad, I, for one, will have nice memories of the other arcs.
Even a canon filler arc in OP as a rich story and conclusion.
