It's great. My sister is 13, reads a lot of shoujo manga and enjoys most of the anime I show her.
Some shows are much more enjoyable watching with someone else, and some of them less boring and usually way funnier in the case of slapstick/random comedy (ex. Excel Saga).
I'd say I couldn't have watched Fruits Basket to the end without my sister, because the show is a poor adaptation of the manga and she complained all the time about the anime's faults, making it funnier and we discussed it midway episodes.
I treasure the minutes of the week I spend watching anime with her, mainly the Minami-ke and Clannad ones when we laugh/cry together.
Next season we'll be watching K-ON! and 07-Ghost together if they're good.
