Sup, /a/voidantfags? I've got your kind down to a science. Any challengers?

You experience extreme social anxiety, often feeling inadequate. Avoiding social situations, by seeking out jobs that require little social contact with others. You are fearful of being rejected and worry about embarrassing yourself in front of others. You often exaggerate the potential difficulties of new situations to rationalize avoiding them, often creating fantasy worlds to substitute for the real one. You yearn for social relations yet feel they are unable to obtain them. You are frequently depressed and have low self-confidence.

;_; I'm not actually as dick as originally suggested.

Oh hey, I know you too!

You often avoid relationships and do not show much emotion. Unlike /a/voidantfags, you genuinely prefer to be alone and do not secretly wish for popularity. You tend to seek jobs that require little social contact. Your social skills are often weak and they do not show a need for attention or acceptance. You are perceived by others as humorless and distant and often are termed "loners."

The roles defined for us by society have become increasingly boring, sterile and meaningless. We try to fit in and do what's expected of us and fail every time. Eventually we have no motivation and stop trying at all. Underneath our sub-concious selves yearn for a much grander life than the one fed to us. Every time we try to be normal it sabotages us. On the surface we may think we're weak willed, but we never really wanted normality anyway. The normality everyone else has doesn't bring them happiness. At best it usually brings them a dull contentment. You can choose to look at your condition as a pathetic inability to achieve normality, or a stubborn denial of the mediocrity everyone else just accepts. I choose the latter.

Your general personality is characterized by self-centeredness, often seeking attention and praise. You exaggerate your achievements, expecting others to recognize them as being superior. You tend to be choosy about picking friends, believing that not just anyone is worthy of being your friend. You tend to make good first impressions, yet have difficulty maintaining long-lasting relationships. You are generally uninterested in the feelings of others and may take advantage of them.
    >> Anonymous 02/12/09(Thu)05:37 No.18813840
/a/ is lazy. Part of being a human is taking on challenges, and challenges are hard. Making and maintaining relationships takes effort, and /a/ puts effort into nothing other than finding their torrents and making the occasional sandwich.

Anime is just another form of story telling, everyone wants to hear a story to take their mind off of the mediocricy that is life. Everyone tries to avoid most of the things they dislike, be it work, school or relationship troubles and hey who doesn't brush off some of our duties to watch the odd anime or read your favourite manga. I'd like to just think it's coincidence that people who like anime tend to be loners and or self conceited shut ins.

Your definition of manly is wrong.

Manly is when you couldn't give 2 shits about anything around you except for some things you care about and you kill everything that threatens to harm those things.

Manly is when someone starts posting nigger gangrape doujins of your pure waifu and you don't CAPS LOCK at them, but you quickly and quietly cause them deep emotional trauma with a few words.

Manly is when you go to war and die to protect your allies.

Manly is when you act like a true martyr.

/a/ isn't one person, and an anime alone is generally not enough to change somebodies life. Real problems can't be solved by manifesting giant drills. All it can provide is a glimpse of inspiration. But sometimes that glimpse of inspiration hits you at just the right point in your life to tip the scales, and you can make a significant life change.

Humans may be animals, but to think they are nothing more than animals is pretty pessimistic. There's courtship, and there's manipulation. It's pointless to argue it any further because it'll devolve into an opinion fight, so I'll just say I don't like it.
