For once, it is not that time /a/. So instead I'm going to have to ask this question.

"How has anime and, or manga affected your social life?"

I compare girls to anime/manga girls, thusly when I do so I realize how PIG DISGUSTING real girls/woman are. And that I'll be single for a very long time.

I can't interact with small girls without having to suppress my erection
    >> Anonymous 11/30/08(Sun)01:57 No.16780667
It hasn't done much. The Internet is responsible for ruining my life not anime.
    >> Anonymous 11/30/08(Sun)01:59 No.16780696
its most definitely changed my perception of meeting women. i remember love hina mos def probably fucked me up when i was young. kinda gets you into the mindset of, oh fuck this shit, someday im gonna find a girl like that or watever someday, like look at keitaro. but psh, eh, i was 13/14, and now im makin up for lost time.

At first a direct relationship between the two existed - as anime watching went up, socializing went down at an equal rate. Now their is little to no socializing regardless.
    >> Anonymous 11/30/08(Sun)02:04 No.16780813
It hasn't changed it all that much. I've always been somewhat shy, even before I got into the stuff. The only difference is that now I have to explain the posters and figures to people when they come over.

For me, it led me to my association to two anime clubs, one in DC and one in the University of Maryland, and going to anime conventions, where I get to know people who have similar interests instead of having beer at bars and having sex.

It also introduced me to rave music.

Actually, I've made more friends cause of anime than I've lost.
I live in fucking British Columbia.
Place is asia town, so it's not rare to come across otakus.
Even if they're the lame watch what's on TV type.

Wow I was about to bang this really hot girl but then I couldn't do it because I play too many hentai games and couldn't get it up for real girls! Get this though, she was a lesbo anyway! God, good thing my life remains unaffected by anime right?

pic related; it's my talking to my loser neighbor

At first I was one of those loud and obnxious "glomp!!" otaku types, but I quickly matured and settled for being a shy and awkward person.

Most of my friends are white people who are in an anime club. (A un-stereotypically awesome one, though)

But I might be moving farther south (where I presume you are).
Are you referring to the white population too? Or mostly asian?
Are my chances of making asian anime-nerd friends is really low when I'm white?

eh? someone else from BC? cool.

Anime hasn't massively affected my social life; It just means that I hangout with other people who like it, same thing with video games and /tg/ stuff.

My Asian friends call me an egg, I don't know if I should face palm or lol.

Bleah, really sleepy. Sorry for not getting to the point.

Basically, as an anime nerd, can I easily make white anime friends down there too? Or just make friends in general by being a social-anime otaku?

Lucky you guys, I live in shit California. It's pretty much a taboo to even mention anime or manga, unless of course it's an Asian person.

I run an anime club in BC, about 50% of our members are loud annoying weeaboos with fucking horrible taste taste in anime. 20% are quiet Asian girls who keep mostly to themselves and rarely talk to anyone. another 20% are people I've managed to get interested in a few good show, outside the generic shounen shit they usually watch. And the last 10% are my buddies; who watch a shit ton of anime, have pretty good taste, and play visual novels....among whom I am the only white dude....

Man, I just realized that a lot of Asian people treat me like I'm Asain.

I compear real girls to anime girls too. Real girls are just too boring. Where I live (in a rich place, bawwww) girls are totally retarded, some in one of my classes didn't even know what "50000:50" was, she thought it was 2000.

And they mostly use too much makeup since they are really ugly without makeup. I have yet to see some girls with as perfect looks as anime girls.

And all they talk about is what party they're going to and how drunk they will get, or about make up.

    PIG DISGUSTING.
    >> Hox !eJSo3pT9s6 11/30/08(Sun)02:42 No.16781550
It hasn't really affected my social life since I never talk to people about it. Other than that, it did affect my life by giving me something to do. I was so fucking bored before I rediscovered anime/manga.

I've seen those types as well, but then again I never was troubled by them. I was pretty much a Ryuji, a scary looking delinquent type who was in fact nice.
