Eventually
he finds that he is cursed and whenever he gets close to people, they
will die instead of the criminals. It takes the death of his best
friend and tennis partner, L. Lawliet, to realize this. L's younger
brother contacts Light and decides to cheer him up with the surprise of
a lifetime! After gathering Light and his friends together in a
warehouse, he gives light 40 seconds to say good-bye to his friends
before he will give him the surprise.
It turns out L's little
brother is immune to the curse and reflects it back at Light, but it's
alright. The good people who Light got to close to actually don't die -
they go to a second world with lots of sunflowers and other pleasures.
Light meets L in the sunflower world and they live happily together
forever. |
