I think you're trying to say is that his goal should somehow involve
the betterment of society, in which case I'd beg to disagree. My goal
in life is the same: I want to be as happy as I can before I croak. If
that involves becoming a doctor and curing cancer, great. If it
involves a garbage truck and a girl with long hair and glasses, fine.
Again,
though, this is falling into the domain of personal opinion. The fact
of the matter is, she's happy with him, so if you consider her feelings
(which I'm hoping you would), it's not a waste. If you think you can
somehow make her happier than him, maybe because you have more money,
or maybe because you think your life is more important, you're welcome
to try, but she's the one who gets to be the judge of whether her life
is "wasted" on him or not. |
