Yeah, you and half of all Hellsing fans, but that's because there was a time when there WAS no OVA.
Hell, the anime got me into the manga. Been following the OVA releases since day one.
Hellsing became popular in America not because of the OVA, nor the manga, but because of the anime. And American popularity is the direct cause of why we even have an OVA.

Great, but watch the goddamn OVA right NOW.
There's 4 one hour episodes so far, and there's only less than a month left until episode 5 comes out. Trust me, you'll want to be caught up to the OVA by the time OVA5 comes out, because /a/ will be cumming all over it. There's only about 2 episodes PER YEAR

Plus, the OVA makes the anime look like complete shit in comparison.
