They already shit in Toonami's face by shortening it's air time by an hour, and then changing it's time from 4pm to 7pm.

I cried when that happened. Now... I just shake my head and curse.

Till the sun rises on a world without Toonami, we remain the first, and still the best. Only Toonami.

    ;_; *salute*

It's sorta a mixed feeling here. I mean we loved Toonami, but we all loved the old one. It sorta is like a pet you once loved and played with has since gotten sick and old. it's a good idea to put this old dog down then to try to rebuild it with the shows we currently have. I mean seriously, are the next generation of fans to come going to have the same feeling we had when when watched the awesomeness of Tenchi Muyo, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Gundam and so on?

I still have both good and bad feelings. But mainly, ill miss you classic Toonami. You were a good friend and buddy.

    ;_;

I think the thing is that Toonami was the final thread connecting us to the Cartoon Network we used to know, and having that thread cut means having to face the fact that our childhood is gone. I know that Toonami saw me through some hard times in my life and I'm sure I'm not alone.
    >> Anonymous 09/20/08(Sat)23:56 No.14870979

Well, it is the curse of living that we will eventually lose all that is important.

In that regards, I got shit-faced and watched old Toonami recordings.

    >>14870890
oh hell no. I'm betting the entire internet community who had a childhood with Toonami are coming together in a common loss felt by all. I'm sure CN will be getting a surge of angry letters from many a watcher, both young and old, asking but one question....

    "Why?..."

I wonder why they couldn't just replay the old block of shows... maybe I just don't know how the business works.

If we liked DBZ when we were 5-12, then there's no reason that 5-12 year olds wouldn't like it today.... right?

Well i hear that some channels are now running 90's cartoons like spiderman and xmen.

    >>14871084
true but herein lies the problem.
In order for a network to show a program, it must be licensed. the cost to license many of those shows again, and expect the ratings that they got years ago, not to mention no product placements current animes and shows get (zabuza sword etc.), would be pointless. I love that toonami showed us some of the most influential anime we may ever have seen in our lives, but we cant expect cartoon network to simply spent what may be millions of dollars to simply give us our fix of old classics.

it's all a matter of business, not that we like it.

    We need more hugs.
