(The other was my best friend, Tori.) I wanted to push myself and try hard with this EP, I finished this in less than a month and a half. I wanted to do something that I would be really proud of, and I wanted to make something that really showed my appreciation for the opportunity I was being given by performing 3 shows in Japan. I think this is a good thank you gift (lol). I hope the wait for a new release was worth it, and I'm definately going to be releasing more stuff in the future! This EP is really, for me, a metaphor for me getting out of the abusive situations I was dealing with my family in 2018 being stuck in Sonoma County, California. I'm glad I got out, and I feel like me touring in Japan was the start of something amazing. 1. Making Breakcore Remixes Of Pop Punk Songs To Make My Discography Bigger With this song, I heard the original and pretty much went "this song would sound really good if I sped it up and put breaks over it. Admittedly I do this a lot (lol). It was pretty fun working on this, especially experimenting with panning. It's not the strongest song on the EP, but it's still pretty fun. It's definitely better in the 2nd half of the song. 2. Clarissa (Breakcore Edit) I always have really liked Mindless Self Indulgence, and I wanted to do something where I could have an excuse to sing one of their songs live. Could you believe this only took me about 3 hours to do? I got /super/ focused on working on this one night and I loved how I made the original song pop more too. I was pretty much just walking through the mall before work, listening to their music and trying to figure out which song I wanted to use. This one stuck out to me the most as something I wanted to have fun with. I really like the breakdowns I did with the breaks though, that was fun and I'd ever done that before. 3. Lover Of The Gay Beef Cyte told me when he was arranging Love Loli that he was gonna have a compilation CD of all the artists. I could have just put an old song on it, cause I have a lot of really good songs that I've made in the past. I wanted to Do an original song for the event though. This was the first song I made in the EP, and I had a blast working on it. I love how the first half was essentially just a Breakcore edit, then the second half is just me fucking going ham and the second half is me doing all sorts of experimentation like sentence mixing. I also love how I accidentally replicated the melody from "Sweet Soul Brother" by Hideki Naganuma by accident. This was definitely a fun song to play live, it has a nice energy to it. 4. Now That's What I Call Mashcore! With this song, I essentially wanted to go all out and really make a Mashcore song. I tried really shoving all I could into it. It started off as a joke trying to see how I could make a song based on the "Chop Suey but everything is a table" video. But then it evolved into more and more things. I did everything I could, a LOT of sentence mixing. Honestly, this is probably my best song to date and I feel really proud of it. Definitely the strongest song on the EP. This is a combination of me celebrating Mashcore as a genre and me trying to push myself to make a song that stands out and shows my ability as a sample-based artist. 5. FUWA FUWA HEADRUSH So I had about a week between Love Loli and Caqarecac vol.05, so I figured I'd try making a song completely in Japan. A remix of Fuwa Fuwa Time from K-On was pretty fitting because of the symbolism it has for me. K-On! was the anime that pretty much pushed me through some hard times and helped me get my ass off the ground and do stuff. From March 2018 to October I was in a pretty bad place (physically and mentally) and K-On! helped me with that. The guitar track from わたしの恋はホッチキス that was shown in S2E1 turned into I Feel Fine by Cherry Aneurysm and it helped me finally get motivated to make a Cherry Aneurysm release, as I'd been throwing the idea around for the past year and a half before that. The anime in general helped motivate me to really try harder with my music, and I feel like this song really shows that off. I wanted to have a really good closing song for my 2019 Winter tour in Japan, and I feel like this was a good way to send myself off.
