But the railing seems to indicate it's a place where people actually go, and there's no pipes that actually connect to the level entrance.

I wanted to share this with you guys: this is a compilation of ~5 minute animations by different studios. It was made in the year 1990 and you can tell, it’s very dated looking.
This version on YouTube is the best one I can find. You’ll either think is really fascinating or really weird. I used to watch this when I was really little though and I loved it haha
One of the scenes from the video. I’ve always thought environments like this were really cool

Mahthrbertr30-Jul-21 06:18 PM
@Minembo (Luka) Any progress on that, or nah? I hope I'm not being annoying
MtH30-Jul-21 06:22 PM
iirc the invite was disabled because a similar server was in some kind of danger and they wanted to avoid risking that server as well. could be entirely wrong though
Mahthrbertr30-Jul-21 06:42 PM
Ah, I see
Any idea whenever they'll accept new folks in again?
Everyone I found the original source for the join us meme

I don't want to cobblepost this because I'm not really sure, does this parallax test from the hl2 ep1 engine off valve developer community look like anything?(edited)
Does anyone have an idea of what CG program could have produced images such as this?
(Top is from a wallpaper site, this crop is from a digital archive japan stock image)
They all have this telltale style, skyboxes, and water, and these same computery bits as a seemingly default material(edited)
It doesn't look quite like POV Ray to me but that's the only thing I can think of

Seems to me like it's just a randomly generated noise creating towers that they uved with a stock texture
could have been made in any modeling software of the time, if i had to guess most likley early maya

It's not the towers necessarily, just the...look, I suppose
It's emblematic in a specific style of reflection you could see if I posted more, the skies (as I said), that same stock texture...

Probably not maya, as the wallpaper site has stuff starting in 97, and maya was feb 98
Retro6410-Oct-21 06:48 PM
well early maya is just poweranimator
Edd10-Oct-21 06:52 PM
In that case it's probably late PowerAnimator/Alias
However, nothing like it is in the alias3 pix, so...
