Objective: Conducts Battle Force In port Training (BFIT) exercises which permit PACFLT commanders, from the numbered Fleet commander level to the Battle Group Staff level, to test the current and postulated war fighting strategy, tactics, command and control, and logistics support against a realistic threat environment. BFIT exercises can be designed to include the following phases: 1) Planning and initial tasking; 2) a Command Post Exercise (CPX) in which the Enhanced Naval Warfare Gaming System (ENWGS) generates OTH-T GOLD reports to electronically drive JOTS installed on units deployed in PACFLT via the OTCIXS communication network. Combat is simulated and additional events are included to test specific requirements in all warfare areas as well as C3I and logistics support.
