The Request for Quotation is changed to the following: The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis the following items as manufactured by Kenwood Communications Corporation, 2201 East Dominguez Street, Long Beach, CA 90801-5745. Compatibility with existing base units, radio repeaters and antenna; and built-in Logic Trunked Radio (LTR) combined together makes the item uniquely qualified to meet the Government's requirement. The requested items are as follows A. Model TK-280 Portable VHF FM Portable Radios (with Level 1 Encryption installed) with battery, 75 each; B. Speaker Microphones, P/N KMC25A, 25 each; C. Extra batteries, P/N KNB17A, 75 each; D. Leather case, P/N KLH75, 75 each; E. Model TK-780 VHF FM Mobile Radios (with Level 1 Encryption installed), 22 each. Both portable and mobile units must be able to operate in the frequency range from 138 to 162 megahertz. Item E, Model TK-780, transmitter output shall be a minimum of 45 watts. The portable and mobile units must have the SC20-400-12 basic fixed inversion scrambler which offers in clear mode using a modem controller, can be programmed O.T.A.R. (over the air re-programming) to change inversion frequencies, to stun the radio or to send emergency all call using flashcall format. The inversion boards must match current Master Code in use. Scrambler must be able to be upgraded to a higher level of security by the factory (such as code hopping). Encryption cards must be installed prior to delivery and must match Master Code currently in use. The successful bidder must be able to replace/repair inoperable equipment within 48 hours during the period of the commercial warranty. The contractor shall provide a copy of the terms and conditions of the warranty with the written quote. Authorized distributors of Kenwood Communications Corporation may quote on the above items for price competition. This is a 100 percent Small Business Set-Aside.
