It may be on a secure server but... anyone can see (and modify?) a user's subscription choices if they know your email address. Visit the above link and enter "jya[at]pipeline.com" - no password - no nothing - you're in!

Cryptome: Figures, the service is erratic, evasive in its answers to my queries (blames me for the problem), and may be in cahoots with the feds to snarf personal info. Smells like a bait-and-switch trust-me TLA.

We've added a password. When we signed up at DoJ, FBI and DNI for the messages there was nothing about password protection. That should be added as a warning to the subscription page.

By comparison of DoJ, FBI and DNI initial messages in August 2008 and November 2008 (copies of DNI messages attached), it is possible to see that embedded links are quite different.

The November links are very long and truncated, and produce errors, apparently due to the long embedded "track?type=click&enid=" code.

This tracking and enid code is quite surprising and appears to track and identify the unwary user who clicks to access the government files.

The August 2008 messages do not have the tracking-identifying code and I suggest that you protect user privacy by getting rid of it. And make the files accessible too boot.

This message is being published on Cryptome.org.

Regards,

John Young
