Dear Mr. Young,

I am contacting you regarding your Freedom of Information Act request
that was sent via email to the U.S. Coast Guard on February 18, 2010
regarding the U.S. Coast Guard conducting "pre-audits" of public websites. In that request you sought "all documents relating to the Coast Guard
conducting such 'pre-audits' of public web sites." We interpret this
request to seek pre-audit information for websites not owned or operated
by the U.S. Coast Guard. We have no records responsive to your request. Your website received the above referenced "pre-audit" email dated
February 17, 2010 in error. The Department of Homeland Security conducted
a review of Coast Guard owned or operated websites. While compiling the
list of websites to be audited, your website was inadvertently included
in the list. However, your website WAS NOT audited by the Coast Guard,
nor were any other non-Coast Guard owned or operated websites audited by
the Coast Guard. As such, as stated earlier, we have no records responsive
to your request. While an adequate search was conducted, you have the right to appeal this
determination that no records exist within Commandant (CG-65) that would
be responsive to your request. Should you wish to do so, you must send
your appeal and a copy of this letter, within 60 days of the date of this
letter, to: COMMANDANT (CG-611) US COAST GUARD ATTN: FOIA/PA OFFICER 2100 2ND ST SW STOP 7101 WASHINGTON DC 20593-7101 Following the procedures outlined in the DHS FOIA regulations at 6 C.F.R. § 5.9.
Your envelope and letter should be marked "FOIA Appeal." Copies of the FOIA and DHS regulations are available at www.dhs.gov/foia. Provisions of the FOIA allow us to recover part of the cost of complying with
your request. In this instance, because the cost is below the $14 minimum,
there is no charge. If you need to contact the FOIA office concerning this request, please contact EFOIA[at]uscg.mil and refer to the Headquarters FOIA Control Number 2010-1301. Sincerely, J. C. Koermer, CDR, USCG Chief, Information Assurance Division Commandant (CG-651)
