NOTE: The frequencies stored in memory are protected for about 30 minutes without AA batteries or adapter power. Tips for Programming * Good references for active frequencies are Radio Shack's "Police Call Radio Guide Including Fire and Emergency Services," "Official Maritime Frequency Directory," and "Official Aeronautical Frequency Directory." We update these directories every year, so be sure to get a current copy. * Frequencies in the VHF bands are in 5 kHz steps. In the UHF bands, they are in 12.5 kHz steps. The scanner automatically rounds the frequency to the nearest valid number. For example, if you try to enter a frequency of 151.473, your scanner rounds it to 151.475. (IR-08/08/96)
