The Finch/Wild birdseed thing just ain't workin' out. I have a dandy little co-op store near me that has every kind of off the wall grain or flour you could name. All organic. It's where all the hard-core quotes shop. I have 13 qt jars knocked up x-mas day (finchseed) so I'm just planning ahead. If these get cob-web mold, i'm gonna go with something that isn't so touchy as far as sterilization time/moisture is concerned. BTW hi to all. been away for a bit...
I'll post a pic later to verify the cob-web mold. But I'd sure like a good suggestion for my little kids, they need life!!

is this ralphsters cambo cubensis?
it grows really thin for a cubie, it may not be cobweb that you are seeing.
i went through three isolations on agar before i got rizomorphic growth out of the strain. i'll tell you what though, those cambo's are awesome!!! very, very nice. i haven't grown out the isolated strain. i can say that the straight spores ralphster sent me, while thin and light growing, produced very well. i have grown them out on brf cakes and straight rye berries. great strain.
I have heard that cambos just love finch seed. Is there anything else they like to grow on? I found this all organic co-op grocery store with about 100 different types of organic grains and flours. I hear of many on these message boards having a hard time finding a good selection of this sort of thing. Since I have just about anything I could want in this department at my disposal, what would be good to experiment with?
BTW, if anyone is unable to find such items, let me know and I would be more than happy to help you get the grain or flour you need. I have gotten alot of help from this board and would like to give something back to this community.
