-Chapter n, "Betrayal" Sailor Moon stood up from her crouching position. She wassure that the roof would fall on her, given that it had in factcollapsed. But for some reason it hadn't even hit her. When shelooked up, she discovered the culprit. One lone beam was still inplace, supported by two columns separated by quite a few yardsbetween them. Parts of the roof, including the one meant to hither, were still attached to the beam. She gulped, realizing howclose she had come to being smashed into a pancake by the roof.Sailor Moon started following the beam with her eyes, untilshe reached the corner where the crossbeam met the support columnfarthest where she was standing. She then proceeded to follow thesupport column down, until she spotted them. The clones, allcovered in debris from the roof. That part of the crossbeam hadindeed given up it's small chunk of the roof to gravity. The Clone's didn't look like they were in any position tofight, they were all still stirring, but they looked very muchdazed. Sailor Moon didn't like this one bit. Ever since using theSilver Crystal to heal the other Sailor Scouts of their injuries, her own energy was being very slow in regenerating. She knew sheneeded some rest to rejuvenate herself, but Sailor Moon couldtell that was unlikely. The Nega Scouts were still stirring, andthat was bad. "Beware I live!" Upon hearing this, Sailor Moon broke herstare at the fallen Clones, and looked straight forward. She thenrealized that the Clones were all in a circle, and they hadshielded... "I am Nega Mars!" Nega Mars grinned and stepped outof the circle the Clones had made to protect her. "Like that?"she asked with an innocent looking grin, "I got it from a videogame called 'Sinistar.' Have you ever heard of it Sailor Moon?"Sailor Moon took several steps back, nearly tripping onceover a chunk of brick, until she was right up against the supportcolumn that had protected her from the collapsing roof. She feltlike screaming, but she held it back. She then proceeded to lookat where her allies were, hoping and praying that they could helpher, only to become even more terrified. In all her curiosity at surveying her present situation, shehadn't even looked at the Sailor Scouts, who were, like theClones, covered in debris. She glared back at Nega Mars andproceeded to run the short distance towards the other scouts. Shestarted pulling the debris off of her friends. "No! No! Pleasestill be alive guys! I need you! Don't die!" She shouteddesperately. Her heart threatened to stop when she finally got a goodlook at the scouts. Sailor Venus was half covered bya largechunk of the roof. She looked like she was asleep. Sailor Mercuryhad a large gash on her head, it was trickling down the girlsblue hair, and onto the ground below her face. Sailor Jupiter'sfuku was slashed in many places with an equal number of openwounds, she was laying on her right side, her legs wereperpen~icular to the rest of her body. She could hear Nega Marslaughing sinisterly. She turned around, and clenched her fists.Holding back the real emotions she was experiencing, ofterror and fear, Sailor Moon tried to allow a little bravery tosurface. "It isn't right to attack innocent people, and it isn'tright to attack the people responsible for keeping those innocentpeople safe." Sailor Moon stood up. "I am Sailor Moon!" Sheshouted, still detecting no energy to back her, she proceededanyway to give her trademark hand gestures while saying "In thename of the moon..." She struck her final pose "I'll punish you,." Nega Mars folded her arms. "That's a good speech. You shouldwin an award for that or something."Sailor Moon could not think of anything to say in response. Too scared to even try. The stand off had begun. The distancebetween them didn't seem like it even mattered. Nega Mars wasstanding straight and sure, ready to start administering thefinal blow. Sailor Moon gave it her all and tried to stand evenstraighter, staring right into the clone's eyes. This starecontinued for about a minute. Nega Mars was becoming even moreexcited, she was gathering, through the stare, that Sailor Moonwas more scared than she was letting on. "So Sailor Moon," Nega Mars broke the silence. "It lookslike you have no one to protect you." The Clone's grin widened.Sailor Moon could only think of one other possible thing todo. She had to protect her friends, she had to protect thefuture, she was Sailor Moon. She couldn't let anyone defeat loveand justice. The clones were threatening that, she had to takeaction, and quickly. Nega Mars broke her stare and looked down at Sailor Moon'sbrooch as it opened up to reveal the Silver Crystal. "That's theSilver Crystal." Nega Mars stated, "What are you going to do withthat?" Sailor Moon looked up and answered, "Like I said, I cannotlet you continue hurting other people." Nega Mars snickered. "You want me to believe with whatlittle energy you have left that you will even hurt me? Wellthen, if you even are going to try, I might as well 'act' likeI'm trying desperately to fight back." Sailor Moon willed the Crystal out of it's resting placewith the palms of her hands. It didn't even need to make contactwith her hands. The Silver Crystal emanated a bright but bearablelight. Sailor Moon could swear that it actually knew what it wasabout to do, what it's purpose was at that time. "Forget it Sailor Moon!" Nega Mars shouted, "your time isup!" Nega Mars then folded her hands together and extended herindex fingers. Pointing right at Sailor Moon, she yelled "Mars,Fire, Ignite!" Sailor Moon saw the bright fire as it shot for her at ablinding fast speed. She gave no time for second thought, "Moon,Crystal, Power!" The crystal started unleashing it's power, whichin consequence, was the product of Sailor Moon's own energy beingpoured into it. Sailor Moon could feel her energy being pulledinto the Crystal. She had the ability to control it, but shedidn't want to. She willed the crystal on further. Pushing it outas far as her arms could reach. Nega Mars was a little startled. Sailor Moon couldn't havehad that much energy. *That crystal must amplify her power,* shethought to herself, *that doesn't matter. Sailor Moon doesn'thave enough energy left.* She concentrated more of her own energyinto her attack. It wasn't too much. She could continue on for afew more hours, or so she believed. Nega Mars was a littleworried, but it didn't phase her determination. Sailor Moon felt her energy drain away even more, too thepoint her arms now felt heavy and there was a great pain in herheart. She started hearing voices, the voices of the people sheloved. Rini's face flashed into her mind, "You can do it SailorMoon." Soon after that, Darien, "Protect our future, Serena." Lita, Mina, Amy, Artemis, and Luna, all followed, "We'rewith you!" "I'm not letting you kill yourself Sailor Moon, you1re tooweak for this, you know that." Sailor Moon blinked, this didn'tcome from her mind. She turned her head until she could seebehind her out of the corner of her eye. "Sailor Mars!" she shouted. "Stand back! You don't need toput yourself in harms way for me! I must do this on my own! Andhow did you keep the roof from hurting, you!?" Sailor Moon felther legs almost give out, she corrected her balance and continuedstanding. Sailor Mars got behind her fellow scout and put her hands onSailor Moon's shoulders. "No time for questions Sailor Moon! LikeI said! You're too weak! Let me help!" Sailor Moon gave up trying to convince Mars otherwise, shelooked on forward. "Okay!" Mars took in a deep breath, and then shouted, "Mars, star, power!" The red gemstone on Mars' tiara shot out rays of red light, she gripped Sailor Moon's shoulders even tighter. *here we go*Mars thought to herself. She then proceeded to pour her ownenergy, through Sailor Moon, into the crystal. Nega Mars felt even more resistance to her power, itthreatened to push her back. "What the..." she trailed off whenshe tilted her head to the right slightly and saw the personbehind Sailor Moon. "So, the fire reader survived. No problem."Nega Mars yelled out like a lions roar, and poured even moreenergy into her counterattack. Moon and Mars both felt the added resistance. Sailor Moondidn't try to fight the extra resistance, she was caught offguard when she noticed even more energy flowing from theconnection between Sailor Mars and the Silver Crystal. SailorMoon had shortly before transformed into Princess Serena but thatwasn't really making her any stronger than she was being SailorMoon, "Mars!" she shouted, "don't put yourself into too muchdanger! I have enough energy left to defeat this..." "No!" Mars interrupted her. "The Earth needs you! TheUniverse needs you! We need you! Even though I call you ameatball head all the time, you're a true friend! Friends helpfriends! They even put their own lives on the line! I'm yourfriend Serena, and I'm not letting you die on us! You're tooimportant to everyone!" Serena closed her eyes involuntarily as she started to passout. "No!" Mars shouted, she realized that only Princess Serenacould wield the Silver Crystal, and if she passed out, the linkbetween Sailor Mars and the Crystal would be useless. She movedher hands underneath the princess' arms and strained to supporther. Mars was intending to do what she was about to do later on,but instead decided that her next action was desperately neededright then. She started pouring more energy, not just into theSilver Crystal, but into Serena as well. Princess Serena opened her eyes again, "Mars! What are youdoing! Stop it! You can't do that without killing yourself!""I'll be okay!" Sailor Mars responded. Serena was still veryweak, the energy that Mars was pouring into the princess insteadof the crystal, was only enough to keep her from passing out.Sailor Mars was still having to support Princess Serena, whichwas proving to be difficult given the fact that her own energywas being spent so quickly that she was becoming dazed. She lether head rest on Serena's right shoulder, closed her eyes, andconcentrated even harder on the connection between herself andthe crystal. Nega Mars started to become scared. The crystal had startedto give three or four times it's original power when Sailor Moonbegan her attack. The clone started to feel fatigued and tired."This can't happen. You can't defeat us! By the name of QueenBeryl, the Negaverse generals, and especially the Negaforce, Ican't let you win!" She decided, half heartedly, to give the twoscouts one big push, believing that they might break their attacklong enough so that Nega Mars' own power would kill them.Concentrating a whole bunch of her energy into one big heap, shepiled it into her attack. The fire at her fingertips gotbrighter. "Die!" That bright spot started rushing toward the twoscouts. Sailor Mars felt the crystal's power become unopposed for abrief second. Quickly realizing that the Clone's would die beforethey ceased an attack, she assumed the other thing. "Oh no!" Sheyelled. She gritted her teeth, pulled Princess Serena closer, andsent every last bit of energy she had into the Silver Crystal, and her friend. The bright flash of fire hit the power emanating from thecrystal, but instead of breaking through, it bounced back. NegaMars saw this, and gasped. "Noooo!" she shrieked. Ducking in anattempt to miss it's massive power, she found herself beingsmashed into the ground violently and her skin tingling with apowerful fire that ceased just as soon as it began. Princess Serena fell to her knees, a transformation tookhold and she became Sailor Moon again, the Silver Crystal, somehow realizing it's task was complete, disappeared, only toreappear inside of Moon's brooch. Then the brooch sealed. She felt herself able to stand again, and more alert thanever. She stopped cold when she realized where all this newenergy had come from, she turned around, to see Sailor Mars, staring at her, grinning. "We did it Sailor Moon. You didn't die,I didn't, die." Sailor Mars, slowly transformed back to her normal self,Raye suddenly fell to her knees, her eyes closed and she fellforward, flat on her face, silent. Her long raven black hairfanned out to cover her like a blanket. "Nooo!" Sailor Moon shouted, and rushed over to the fallen scouts side."Don't die on me Raye!" Sailor Moon reached down and pressedtwo fingers against Raye's neck. She could feel Raye's slow butsteady heartbeat. *Thank God! You're still alive!* She grinnedinwardly, eternally grateful for that C+ she had received inFirst Aid class. "Don't do that again! You really, really couldhave killed yourself easily."Her smile turned back into a frown when she realized thatRaye had passed out. Sailor Moon automatically assumed Raye wasstill in great danger. "No Raye, you still wont die, I'll get youan ambulance. You'll be in a nice comfy hospital bed before youknow it. And after you recover, we'll go see that movie we weregoing to go see last weekend but never did." She let a tear fallinto Raye's hair." After a minute or two of kneeling at Raye's side, she turnedto look at the other scouts and Tuxedo Mask. For the moment, sheassumed the others were fine. It was also the most cautiousapproach to take, which was nit without its merits. She decidedthis because she didn't know if the other Clones were still aliveor not, and after all, she never even once looked at Nega Marsafter her and Raye's combined attack ceased. Sailor Moon stood up again, although she still felt heavybecause she still lacked energy. She didn't make a fuss becauseshe realized just whose energy she had in her, and how thatperson had just risked their life for Moon's safety. She found, in shock, that the Clones were all looking ather. Though they seemed to be doing that rather painfully.Sailor Moon could only stare at the Nega Scouts before her,on their knees and nearly gasping for air. She didn't know why,but her heart was saying "have pity on them for once." Shecouldn't quite figure it out. On the other hand, there were manythings about the past week that she couldn't quite figure out.She wasn't even sure if she wanted to. The silence around her was broken by a faint, strainedvoice. It belonged to Nega Moon. "Sailor Moon. You win. We havefailed." Sailor Moon was naturally startled by what she hadheard. Then she looked at the one next to Nega Moon. It was NegaMercury. "We have no reason...to live." She choked severely, thepunch she had received from Sailor Jupiter had evidently donemuch damage to her, "You have won." She choked a second time."Now finish us off." Nega Venus was the next to speak. She had received the bruntof a combined attack between Sailor Venus and Sailor Mercury, andlooked as white as a sheet. "We don't deserve to live anymore." Sailor Moon glanced at Nega Jupiter. Sailor Jupiter's doublehad made it a point to go after Tuxedo Mask in a futile attemptat revenge. She had another rose, this time sticking in her rightshoulder. She was clutching her maimed shoulder with her otherarm, tears coming to her face. "Please, Sailor Moon." Next came Nega Mars. Her fuku had been severely burned fromthe attack Sailor Moon herself had launched along with SailorMars, but it was still intact. Nega Mars looked up at SailorMoon, a stern expression on her face. Sailor Moon then noticed athick stream of blood coming from the clone's nose. Bothnostrils. "Sailor Moon," she started. "We can't go on any longer. You've won." Her voice was eerily calm. "We've lost. We can'tlive anymore. You have to end our lives." "No!" Sailor Moon was having trouble comprehending what shewas about to say, but her heart assured her of its meaning."There's good in you. You are part of us." She paused, "There'sgood in you." Nega Mars shouted, "We can't live like failures any longer!"Tears were coming to her eyes. Sailor Moon shook her head left to right. "I'm not going tokill you. There's good in all of you. That's what makes itwrong." Moon just couldn't figure out what logic her heart wasusing to tell her this. *It must've been the Silver Crystal* shethought, though, she decided not to ignore it. She never ignoredher heart. Nega Mars felt like she was about to faint. Her evilreasoning was telling her to attack until she couldn't attackanymore. But there was a voice. Something deep inside her heart. It sang to her like a song. *Trust Sailor Moon, she'll save you, she'll protect you.* She was naturally fighting to ignore it.But the strange thing was, she found herself not wanting too, nomatter how hard her evil side was trying to. Sailor Moon turned to look at her fallen comrades once more. The sight was indeed a sad one. She couldn't do anything forthem. She didn't want to let her guard down. The sight of herfriends, all nearly crumpled up, shot a pain through her heart somuch that a knot wouldn't be the best description of it. Even thesight of Sailor Mars, who looked better than the others, worstened the pain. Sailor Moon then turned to the Nega Scouts again. Nega Marswas looking down towards the ground. Her heart whispered to her,*you're friends will be fine. The clones need help* She took adeep breath, then started forward. She slowly approached theclones, still cautiously though. Nega Mercury and Venus, upon seeing this, instinctivelytried to assume a defensive posture, fearing the defiling contactwith the creature they despised. They wanted to be killed from adistance, not in close quarters. The touch of Sailor Moon wouldbe an unendurable desecration. They failed when they realizedthey couldn't even stand. Sailor Moon stopped in front of Nega Mars. She got down onher knees beside the fallen adversary. Nega Mars looked up andglared at Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon could see the evil fire in theclones eyes, yet she could see something else as well. It wasthere, her heart told her so. For a brief moment, she could seesomething deep within the clones pained but evilly determinedexpression. Sailor Moon placed a hand on the clones shoulder, who immediately and violently shrugged it off. "Stay away from me!"the clone shouted. She immediately dropped her hand. "No," Sailor Moon responded, "you're not alone in thisworld. I'm not going to let you be." Nega Mars gritted her teeth. She was having trouble holdingback her evil nature so Sailor Moon could kill her. "Stay awayfrom me, Sailor Moon, unless you want to get hurt!" Sheexclaimed. She found a small part of herself hoping that SailorMoon would get the message, this worried her evil side.Sailor Moon found herself speechless. She didn't know whatto do next. So, she decided to listen to the part of her sheconsidered a most trusted advisor, her heart. Without saying aword, without thinking a further thought, she picked up her armand again laid her hand to rest on the clones shoulder. She knewhow much danger she was in, but she chose to ignore it. Then, in an instant, she found herself flying backwardsabout ten feet, parallel to the ground. The clone had landed apunch right to her stomach. "I warned you Sailor Moon!" the cloneshouted. Sailor Moon got up. She hugged her stomach and winced inpain. She looked up at the clone, standing above her. Nega Marsmust have been in better shape than Sailor Moon had originallyassumed. But by now she realized how errored of an assumptionthat was. Sailor Moon was motionless. If she made the wrong move now,she would be in even more pain. She would be worse off, with morethan just a twisted stomach. Nega Mars had the upper hand. Herevil side had seized the opportunity again and Sailor Moon couldsee it in the clones eyes. The crimson fire in her soul. There was still something else there, something caring andnurturous, not evil and vile, and Sailor Moon could sense it. Buthow? Only Raye had the ability to sense things like that. ButSailor Moon knew what she felt, and indeed she was sensing, no,feeling the good in this imposter who had Sailor Moon within her grasp. So, Sailor Moon just sat there, still hugging herstomach, looking up at her now soon-to-be victorious adversary. Nega Mars was smiling with victory. Perhaps she wouldn'tfail after all. If she could just knock down their leader, theothers would be easily defeated. As it was, they were certainlyin no position to fight. The clone lifted up her fist, and aimed right at SailorMoon's head. *Oh, No! I don't wanna die!* Sailor Moon's mindshouted into nowhere. She closed her eyes. Was this how it wouldend? Instantly and instinctively, her mind and heart reached outto Tuxedo Mask, but she couldn't make contact with hisunconscious mind. A sharp breeze violently caressed her face, andshe opened her eyes slightly. The clone had missed Sailor Moon'sskull by less than an inch. Barely brushing against her hair.Nega Mars retracted her fist. "Why can't I kill you!" Nega Mars shouted out, "You'resupposed to die!" Sailor Moon whimpered a little. She realized thatapproaching the clones was like playing with fire. But who wasshe to ignore her heart? She was Sailor Moon, the champion ofLove and Justice. That meant taking risks. She had to listen toher heart, and it never seemed to fail her before.Nega Mars lifted her right hand again, there was no way shewas going to fail. The warm blood from her nose had touched thelips of her mouth and she could taste it. She envisioned theblood of Sailor Moon on her hands, a triumphant victory. "Ohwell, Third times a charm but the second is just as good." theclone stated flatly. Sailor Moon looked down at the cementground. Then, the clone heard a voice inside her mind, anothervoice, but familiar. *Why must you go on like this? There is goodin you, you just don't realize it yet.* The clone clinched herfists, *I've figured it out now, the visions I've seen insideyour head,* the voice continued. Sailor Moon looked up,horrified. Nega Mars had her right fist drawn, aiming right forSailor Moon's head again. Sailor Moon could hold it back no longer, tears startedcoming to her clouded up eyes. *You're lonely. Aren't you.* Those words echoed throughthe clone's mind like thunder in a thunderstorm. Sailor Moon could see the sudden change in the clonesexpression. Her fear was partially replaced with curiosity. NegaMars hadn't loosened or moved her fist, she was still lookingright into Sailor Moons horrified eyes. *You're scared. But you don't have to be.* the voicecontinued. The clone started loosening the clinch in her fist.*Don't hurt Sailor Moon. She'll help you.* The Clone broke her stare with Sailor Moon and looked off tothe distance. "Who are you! Show yourself now!" An image poppedinto her mind. It was Raye, in her priestess robe, and showing abig smile. *Now do you see who I am?*"Huh?" the clone mumbled as she turned to look at where Rayewas laying, unconscious. *Ever since I knew you were here I've been having visions.I've seen some of your thoughts.* "That's a lie!" shouted Nega Mars. Sailor Moon noticed thatthe Clone was staring, and shouting, at Raye. Sailor Moon was struck with a sudden thought. *Could Raye betalking to her? Oh, please, Raye. Get through to her.**There's good in you. I can see it now.* Raye continued. Foronce, Nega Mars decided to cooperate, curiosity had gotten thebest of her. "Where?" she demanded. *You don't see it? Let me show it to you then.* Nega Mars'smind suddenly filled with images. They were the same images shehad seen since she could remember. A child, crying on a sidewalk, no one around to comfort hersobbing. Then, a man walked up to the child. "Daddy!" the childexclaimed. The child jumped up and hugged her dad. The clonecould hear, and feel the child's happiness. Another image, seen instantaneously with the others. Abombing in a distant city. The injured, walking around startledand scared. This time, though, unlike the last time she had this vision, people of all ages started to help the injured. Taking them tosafety and tending to their wounds. A single saline tear formed in the clones eyes. Herexpression held solid though. Another image formed in her mind. She was startled to find that she was seeing herself, in theNegaverse, crouching in a corner, with her arms around her legs, her face buried in her knees. She remembered this instance. Sheremembered the feelings of loneliness, despair, and anger. Then, she saw Nega Jupiter walking up to her, and placing a hand on hershoulder. Instantaneously she brought her other arm around andslapped Nega Jupiter, who stepped back five feet, frightened.*You slime! I told you never to touch me,* she heard herself say.Nega Jupiter lowered her head and walked away sobbing. *Why did you do that to her?* Raye asked. The clones face took on an angry expression. *She shouldn'thave touched me!* *Why?* It was at that instant that Nega Mars suddenly realized whatRaye was trying to prove. *1 don't know? Do I?* *1 think you do.* The same image of Nega Mars in the corner appeared in hermind. She was again crouched in the corner with her head buriedin her knees. Nega Jupiter approached her, knelt down and placeda hand on her shoulder. For the first time ever, Nega Marsnoticed that Nega Jupiter had a smile on her face. She againraised her other arm, and placed her hand over Nega Jupiter'shand. She felt a new sensation at that moment. Friendship. This feeling was new to her. It was more appealing than thehatred, lust, and greed she had of abundance inside herself. Shecould feel something good in her heart. She once again heard Raye. *Now do you see the good you haveinside?* she asked. "Yes." Nega Mars responded out loud. This didn't startleSailor Moon, for she could hear the relieved joy in the clonesvoice. At that instant, Nega Mars could feel the good in her heartoverpower the evil she knew. She grinned, looked down again atSailor Moon, and unclenched her fist. Without saying anotherword. She extended the same hand to the fallen scout. "I'm," shecoughed weakly, "sorry, Sailor Moon." Sailor Moon smiled, still with tears in her eyes. "I forgiveyou." Sailor Moon found herself not afraid, her heart had calmedher. They stood for a minute, Nega Mars found herself not wantingthese new sensations to end. This friendship, trust, andunderstanding. The evil would eventually build back up again, andshe knew it. She became afraid for Sailor Moon's safety, as wellas the safety of everyone else. "Sailor Moon. Please heal me." She pointed to the fallenclones, who seemed oblivious to anything around them, in a tranceof sorts. "And the," she paused, "my friends. Please heal myfriends too." Sailor Moon responded, "But if I heal you, you might die,Because you..." "Are born of the Negaforce." the clone finished Sailor Moon's sentence. "I know. But I also know, there's good in me. Iwant the evil taken away. I want to experience happiness, even ifonly for a minute. I want my friends to experience it too. PleaseSailor Moon." Tears were trickling down the clones cheeks, butshe was smiling. Sailor Moon cupped the clones hands in hers. "Okay." Shecould see almost no more fire in the clones eyes, instead, theyhad a starlight twinkle. Nega Mars painfully gasped and then screamed, "Oh no!"Sailor Moon looked stunned, "Nega Mars! What's wrong?" Nega Mars trembled as her legs gave out, Sailor Moon grabbedher arms and tried to give her balance. The clone respondeddesperately. "Run! You don't have a chance!" With one quickbreath, she passed out. She slid out of Sailor Moons arms. SailorMoon gasped as she finally saw what had caused Nega Mars tocollapse. A tiara. Its pointshad been sharpened and one was sticking into the middle of thesmall of Nega Mars's back. Right at her spine. Sailor Moon lookedup. She could only think of one clone who would use their tiarafor a weapon. "There's one obstacle out of my way," Nega Moon said withsinister seriousness. She was the only one standing in the groupof fallen clones who had before then passed out from theirinjuries. "Well, Sailor Moon. It looks like it's just you, me, and thesilence. You don't know how long I have been waiting to meet theso called self-proclaimed champion of love, and justice face to face." Nega Moon snapped her fingers, her tiara disappeared fromNega Mars's back and reappeared in her hand. She ran a fingeraround its bladed edges, allowing it to draw her own blood. Andmix with that of Nega Mars. She then brought the wounded fingerto her mouth, savoring the taste of blood on her tongue. "Delicious." the clone said in a voice that sounded as though itwere in paradise. She proffered the tiara to Sailor Moon. "Carefor some?" Sailor Moon squealed in fear at the sight laid out before her, while her clone's expression took on a slight frown."No." she spoke again. "I don't suppose you're ready forthat...yet." She put the tiara, blood and all, back on her head, allowing the blood to matte her golden bangs. She took lightpleasure in the feeling of the blood on her head, then focusedher attention back on Sailor Moon. She started approaching thefrightened scout. The sound of her footsteps on the cold cement had an ominous intensity. She hadher hands behind her back and a smug smile on her face. "Oh, Sailor Moon, it's so intriguing. Yes, this does havepossibilities." She stopped right in front of Sailor Moon. Shecould see the fear in the scouts eyes. As fast as lightning, shethrew her hand at Sailor Moon's brooch, and ripped it violentlyoff her uniform. Sailor Moon shrieked as her fuku unwove itselfand re-stringed as her normal clothes. Sailor Moon was SailorMoon no longer, she was now Serena. Nega Moon looked at thebrooch in her hand, then tossed it over her shoulder. It rangdully in Serena's ears as it hit the dust covered ground. Theclone then reached her hand up and touched Serena's face. She puther palm against Serena's cheek bone. Serena wanted to scream, she couldn't do anything but just stand there. She couldn'tremember how to make her muscles work at the moment. She felt thecruel, twisted mirror of herself place its cold hand upon herface. Serena felt as though the icy grip of death itself whereupon her. "Such a sweet, innocent young thing. You have no idea thePandora's box you've opened up, do you? Well, take notes, mydear. After all, you're me." The clone let energy flow throughouther, gathering it into the tip of her palm. "By the way, have Iever told you how much I hate this face?" Nega Moon let her handgloss over Serena's cheek, then, in one powerful swing, shepulled her hand back and slapped Serena's face hard in the samespot she had been touching it. Serena groaned in pain as shetwisted around and met the ground, hard. The clone continued."How dare you! You make me sick! Such wonderful beauty wastedon someone like you!" Serena didn't say anything, too scared for her life to showfear. She gazed in the direction of the fallen Tuxedo Mask. NegaMoon looked over at the fallen hero herself. The clone leaned down to Serena and lowered her voice. "You don't really thinkhe's going to save you, do you, my little princess? After all, hewas going to betray you. Isn't that right, Darien? Tell her howyou promised to kill her so that we could be together." Upon hearing this, Serena had enough rage built up that shesuddenly remembered how to speak. "Liar!" she yelled. "Darienwould never want someone like you!" She got up and stood. "Hisheart is pure!" "Oh, pleeze!" the clone stood. "Why would he want you, nowthat he has me? Face it, Serena, A.K.A. Sailor Moon. You areflawed and weak. I offer him everything he deserves in a woman, but you only offer him frustration." The clone suddenly forcedherself on top of Serena, kneeling over her body and pinning it tothe ground. She then withdrew her wand, black as night, andsharpened to an all too deadly point at the bottom of the handle. "Now," she spoke sinisterly, waving the wand over Serena's face,"what to do about that face of yours? Ah, I know, time for alittle plastic surgery!" She said, holding the point of the wandfirmly against Serena's cheek. The helpless girl screamed at thetop of her lungs, which served only to anger the clone even more."Shut up!" she yelled back, moving the deadly tip of the wandfrom Serena's cheek to her throat. Every breath serena tookpressed her delicate throat against the unforgiving blade. Shewas certain it was going to puncture. Each breath she took was awhimper, a futile plea to be spared. The clone smiled wickedly at her, then sighed. "Unfortunately, there just isn't time for me to indulge myself." Nega Moon calmly withdrew the threat of the wand, allowing Serenato take full breaths once more. "This will have to suffice." Theclone took her own hand and placed it on Serena's throat, butSerena was surprised to find that it did not attempt to choke her. Rather, it slowly forced her head all the way to thepavement. "I have some business to attend to, my sweet. But don'tworry, in case you miss me, I'II give you something to rememberme by." Nega Moon brought her face down to hover over Serena's,then she slowly brought her lips over Serena's and kissed thegirl violently, sending a breath down Serena's throat that tastedlike pure acid. Serena felt herself losing consciousness, andfought to stay conscious. She forced her eyes open, to find theform of her clone gone. She wanted to vomit just to get theungodly taste of the clone's breath out of her mouth. She triedto rise, but found not a single muscle of hers would work, asidefrom her eyes. Looking heavenward, she thought that she saw themoon turn a bright red, or was it just the miasma of her mind asher eyes shut and she drifted away into nothingness. Nega Moon watched with satisfaction as Serena finally passedout. She then turned her attention towards her own allies, theNega Scouts. "Now to take care of you four. I might as well sayit has not been a pleasure doing business with you." She snapped her fingers. When she did, the scenerey changedfrom a violently near-dismantled warehouse to a room with onelarge curtain serving as a wall. It was a stage. A split secondlater, a large black shadow appeared, and was replaced with theNega Scouts. Nega Moon held out her hand and a black crystalappeared in her palm. "Selene, what are you doing?" "What?" Nega Moon looked down at the Nega Scouts. Nega Marswas conscious again. "How can you still be awake?" "You forgot. We can regenerate ourselves too." Nega Marswhispered. Nega Moon grinned, "Not for much longer. It will be apleasure not seeing you walk ever again." With that, she held outthe black crystal in front of her. A black fog surrounded theother Nega Scouts. A few seconds later. The Nega Scouts hadchanged. They were no longer in their Negaverse Fuku's, butinstead, they were in normal clothing.
